Different denominations have varying views on the sinfulness of homosexuality.

Generally speaking though, no sin can keep you from becoming a Christian. The whole argument for Christianity is that you need to be a Christian to overcome sin, and that there is no other way. So by definition you must be sinful to become a Christian and therefore it is completely acceptable to be a gay Christian.

The positions of the different denominations on homosexuality comes into play once you have exercised your choice to become Christian. Some will claim it is then your responsibility to abstain from all homosexual activities and work toward becoming heterosexual. Other denominations will tolerate homosexuality within a committed relationship.

the book of leviticus can lead you in the right direction . the problem is the typical ''Gay lifestyle '' would generally be in direct contrast to what the lord would have you do .. so The question is really one of your own morality more than you you are in love with ......... the scriptures can be interpeted many ways , some ''anti gay'' people have taken and condluted Gods word for there own agenda ... this is just plain wrong . It is not a place for5 a true Christian to judge ...... read Gods word and I feel you will be enlightened ,pray about your confusion ask the lord to help you find the truth.... good luck

The Christian church is made up of all kinds of sinners. However, God's Word tells us that we must REPENT (turn away from) our sins. Those of us who willingly continue in their sinful ways and fail to repent are not truly Christians. This is the same if you're gay, a murderer, an adulterer, a thief, etc. God makes no distinctions between sins -- they're all abominations to Him, from the theft of a paperclip to the murder of an unborn baby.

All Christians have the ability to control how they express their sexuality. Unmarried or separated Christians should be celebate; this includes homosexuals. Fornication is fornication, and is a sin, no matter who you're doing it with.

Gay Church members who occasionally slip into sin, then repent are forgiven, just like anyone else. Again, the key is repentence.

Peace.

How can anyone be a real christian and not realize that one can be both christian and gay? There are a whole lot of things in the bible that we ignore. Being a good christian is not picking and choosing what part of the bible we must follow. Being a good christian means treating others as we want to be treated. Treat EVERYONE as if they might be Christ, not just those who agree with your beliefs.

Probably just as much as you can be a christian and eat shellfish or wear more than one material together for clothes or worship a statue instead of the christian God?
It's called DOUBLE STANDARDS...and of course, the reason most people show disdain and sometimes hate towards homosexuals is well known in psychological circles. It's because they cannot reconcile their own sexually repressed feelings towards members of the opposite sex, so that in turn, is expressed through the act of shunning those that remind them of these hidden feelings.

It's quite pitiful, really.

Well I just have to say that the word christian means to beleive in Jesus. IS it wrong that a man may find love with another man? How can it? If the very idea that Jesus tried to convey was love how can it be wrong? To be a christian is no more than to say I believe in a man called Jesus, and the philosopy of his words. If loving another creature implys a sin, than I guess love must be wrong too, and so is Jesus. If people would stop to think of the contradictions they make to simplify their understanding of faith, they would know that faith is not in words taken from the text of man but through theyre hearts.

There are Christians who drink or smoke, and Christians who say it is a sin to drink or smoke.

There are Christians who are divorced, and Christians who say it is a sin to get a divorce.

There are Christians who have fought for abortion rights, and Christians who have declared abortions to be sinful.

There are Christians who promote birth control and Christians who consider birth control sinful.

There are Christians who say pastors should not marry and Christians where it is normal for pastors to be married.

There are Christians who are celebrate the sabbath on Sunday and Christians who celebrate the sabbath on Saturday.

There are Christians who baptize members as infants and Christians who baptize members only as adolescents and adults.

There are Christians who believe that believe that homosexuality is a part of the normal sexual spectrum and Christians who believe it is sinful.

And for each of these groups, many of them believe the others are not truly Christian.

If the Church is the body of Christ, then the judgments of Christians against one another has turned that body into hamburger meat. Christianity may be monotheistic, but it certainly is not monolithic.

the same way you can be a christian and a liar, or a christian and cheat on your spouse.....sin is sin in the eyes of god. He does not differentiate like humans do and make one sin worse than another...the thing is we are all going to have to account for our sins whether they are lying, stealing, cheating, coventing, idolizing, homosexuality, adultery, gossiping, etc, etc. read the bible very carefully and you will see that although it says homosexuality is a sin that all sin is the same in god's eyes and it distances us from Him..by the way, judgment is also a sin so be careful of doing that to others for their sin, let god do the judging.

Jesus didnt have a problem with gays, it was John and Paul that decided gay and christian didnt mix, that goes for the preachers too because they prefer John and Pauls words over Jesus.

the real curse is ignorance to the idiot below me.

Christian sin all the time. We can me self centered, we lie, we get angry without reason, we get sexually excited and enjoy it.. But we see these actions as sin and forsake them as the creep into our minds and hearts. In other words we don't live in our sins. Gays live there they never turn from it they make their sin part of who they are. There is no way a christian could do that.... Jim
