I'd rather keep that private..."....or I'd rather not say..?..it is personal"..what gets me is they will ACT like what they said was NOTHING....and i am upset, but don't show it!!! Later on i work it off!!! go figure!!!I try to be polite, because that's how i was raised..but i would really like to tell them off...But it is not appropriate!!!

In today's society, people thrive off of other people's drama/problems. Of course they should have enough respect to back off and simply say "If you need anything, I am here to listen" but many are persistent in knowing everyone's business. In my opinion, if you are kind the first go around telling them you prefer not to discuss it and the keep on, be firm and explain that you have told them once you do not want to talk about it and if they still keep it up, that is when I am more forward by telling them that it is none of their business and if you wanted them to know you would have told them the first few times they asked. Tell them to back off and mind their own.

The only person who does that to me consistently is my 22 year old daughter when she is trying to find out information on someone I know. I have to tell her over and over again "I'm not discussing this with you." Sometimes I have had to hang up the phone on her. It drives me bonkers.
