A piano is a percussive instrument that has 88 keys, each of which are arranged in octaves of 13 notes. When the key is pressed down a hammer is triggered which strikes a string that plays one note of a scale. There are two pedals operated by the foot which control sustain of the note and muting of the note played.
Piano is also the Italian word for 'softly' which appears in orchestral scores indicating the player or group of players to play the designated passage softer. Since (in this case) the word piano is a descriptive one, one could say that they play an adverb. lol
Hope this helps and have a great day!!!

It's a musical instrument with 88 keys on it. Most people sit down to play the piano on another thing called: "the piano bench" . A piano bench is a small piece of furniture, larger than a bread box , .. but smaller than a sofa .

The Piano is first my best friend, then,
A piano or pianoforte is a musical instrument classified as a keyboard, percussion, or string instrument, depending on the system of classification used. The piano produces sound by striking steel strings with felt hammers. Vibrations are transmitted through the bridges to the soundboard.
Playing the piano is widespread in western music for solo performance, chamber music, and accompaniment. It is also very popular as an aid to composing and rehearsal. Although a piano is usually expensive and not easily mobile, the instrument's natural sound has been transmitted by radio and replicated by cheaper electronic keyboards, making it familiar to such a large audience that today the piano is noted for its versatility. By the 20th century, piano was heard in numerous styles of music, both popular and classical, making it almost a universal instrument around the world.
The word piano is a shortened form of the word pianoforte, which is seldom used except in formal language and derived from the original Italian name for the instrument, gravicèmbalo col piano e forte (literally harpsichord with soft and loud). This refers to the ability of the piano to produce notes at different volumes depending on how the keys are pressed.
As a keyboard stringed instrument, the piano is similar to the clavichord and harpsichord. These three instruments differ in their mechanisms of sound production. In a harpsichord, strings are plucked by quills or something similar. In the clavichord, strings are struck by tangents, which remain in contact with the string as long as the key is pressed, the note being dampened upon release. In a piano, the strings are struck by hammers, which immediately rebound, leaving the string to vibrate freely.
