The best thing to do is find a reputable breeder through the dpca webside....www.dpca.org. do NOT get it from one of the puppy mills up there.

These breeders are registered with the doberman pinscher club of america. They will all be very good. Not sure how close any of them are to you. Most breeders only have a couple litters a year. Another thing to look into is rescues in your area. Dobies are awesome, but alot of people aren't responsible breeders. I wasn't informed when I got my first one and she has SOOO many allergies. With all the money I've had to spend, it would have been cheaper to buy from a reputable breeder. Good luck on finding a puppy!!

You might want to check under Doberman Pinscher rather than Dobermen Pincher. And be careful of backyard breeders and puppymills, there are a lot of badly bred Dobies out there. Check the DPCA website. Edit: Puppyfind would be EXACTLY where you would fine the badly bred Dobies I was talking about. Avoid that site like the plague.

In addition to finding a reputable breeder, ask to see the lines of the dog and its parents' lines. Avoid any dog with inbreeding. The Doberman line has had problems with inbreeding and it will affect both a dog's temperament and health.
My husband's family had the best doberman in the world and she lived to be 15 and was very healthy until just before she died of old age. She was the sweetest and smartest dog I have ever known. She was also, at 80 lbs (her father was 100 lbs.) not fat at all, just from large stock, large for the breed. To this day regular full-grown dobbies look like puppies to me.
The most important thing my inlaws did when they got her was make sure she had no inbreeding at all and they met her mother and father to see what her likely temperament would be.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7GK
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Rather than buying a dog from a breeder, why not adopt a Dobey? There are many beautiful purebred dogs -- that are already spayed/neutered, trained, behavior screened, vaccinated and wormed available at shelters and pounds for a fraction of the cost of breeders' dogs.
You can search for adog near you by logging onto the followign websites. Most of these sites let you search for dogs by your city name or zip code:
