I believe in God. Ratbrain is right, God is what makes everything happen in the universe. All the laws of physics, chemistry and biology are God. Evolution fits in perfectly well with God. God is what makes all those processes run.

No. I have been an atheist for as long as I can remember. About two years ago I read and studied the Bible. I "talked" to God and asked for some kind of sign. I said that if He was there, that I was open and ready to accept him, and that I would like to believe in Him.

That was over two years ago. Today I am a stronger, more active atheist than I was then. I simply couldn't force myself to believe in something that I just don't believe in.

Why do so many people think that people could believe in God if they only tried? Have you ever considered the fact that we atheists are unable to feel any differently?

Yes I do.
My reasons are long and... I really don’t have all day to write about it. But I will say I have had too many experiences in my life to doubt his existence. I am not the best Christian, I admit it, but God has still been there for me when I needed him. I have had a hard life, and I have been rebellious against him, and yet he still comforts me when I need it. There are incidents in which he saved me from dying, though I know some people will not believe it.
On a side note, to those who doubt him because of the bad things in life, please realize that he only allows these things to better us. I’ll admit that most of the time it seems there is no way this could help, and I suppose we all have doubts at times, but I’ve been there and experienced it and can now honestly say that they made me a better person.
I know this will most likely not change your belief, but I suppose this was more for Christians having hard times then anyone else.

no, i don't.

i wish i did. but i believe in what i can see and feel. i dont believe that there's this magical, metaphysical being that created all this. i mean, we laugh at the ancient societies with all their variety of gods, sun god, death god, et cetera. why is it that OUR god makes more sense? and come on, the simple fact is that there was no strike of lightning, and POW, the bible was there. a collection of MEN wrote it.

and this god gives us the opportunity the either damn ourselves to eternal suffering, pain, and torment; or, if we live our lives the right way, in accordance with some book he supposedly inspired a bunch of men to write, we get into heaven for eternity? some MERCIFUL god that is. why create a creature that is stupid enough to damn itself for eternity?

also, the discrepancies between science and religion are too many and too great. the bible says the world is HOW OLD? what about the freakin DINOSAURS? the list goes on.

i believe that our "souls" do not exist. our entire psyche/personality/mind is a function of electrical impulses firing in our brains. being that you can monitor how a brain creates thought, or how you can use chemicals (ie: drugs) to change how the brain functions and works, then why wouldn't the thought/mind stop when the electrical impulses stop (ie: death)? we are merely bags of meat, creatures, animals, crawling around on this floating rock, drifting through space. when we die, it'll be like we never existed, except in the minds and hearts of those that remember us.

No, I don't believe in "God", ie the deity that Christians worship.

I don't believe in any deity and I don't trust any kind of religious & spiritual beliefs.

Yet, I learn a lot thx to Believers. Otherwise, I wouldn't spend my time in this section.

---

Why?

Because it is my original nature. I don't trust earthian beliefs in this field. I am not able to convince myself about the existence of any kind of deity.

In my view, the concept of "god, deity" is an immature concept full of illusions.

But it is my own personal view. I don't hold the truth.

Yes. If there was no God how was the earth and everything else made. Plus my dad is a pastor and he teaches from the bible. I'm only 15 but I believe it's all in the your heart what you want or don't want to believe.

Only as God allows me to understand him, not by someone elses interpretation of His existance. It is obvious to me that my faith in his existance is more important than the religion I choose to practice. If you want answers, ask Him, and be prepared to listen for the answers as He knows you posess the maturity to understand. A kindergartener cannot be expected to understand the concepts of physics. Have patience, and seek the truth through prayer, which is the only thing in common among all religions. Peace of mind is the test of the validity of the answers you recieve.

YES!! I believe in the God of Christianity because nothing else makes sense, all the scientific reasoning can not explain where life came from, but the Bible does, I am Christian because Christianity is the only religion that offers an assuredness of life in heaven(Christianty is different from all other religions in that God comes to you.)

i dont believe in god.
Because i find to many things in the bible to far fetch to believe fairy tale like.
if there is a god it has nothing to do with any religion.
Most preachers & yes also the vatican are scammers.
i do think that the fear of a god in some people help them to become a better person.

Perhaps we have been conditioned to think God is something he isn't? Instead of an old man with a beard, perhaps God is what makes the wind blow, what makes the sun rise, and what causes the stars to shine.
