I'm going to go with the gooey box ideas.

We had a game at the last Halloween party called "the Black Box Game". We got four or five plastic containers. I got some material that had a spider print on it and covered each box (hot glued) and put a slit in the material for the hands to go in. We made up cards that people had to draw that had a little saying (story line made up during the party) and then told them they had to reach into box #1, or 2 or 3, etc. or had to eat a piece of heart or eat a piece of cat litter cake (recipe is on my website - see profile). Any way, one box had little bouncy balls (Halloween looking) that they could keep. One had candy bars that they could keep. One had not too crushed egg shells (in a zip lock baggie) and then that ooze stuff by Nicklelodian (sp?) on top. One had something else. Anyway - it was great, kept them guessing. The story line made them want to draw again. BTW the heart was one of those molds made with jello & milk - looked real gross but edible (wasn't that bad).

If this was the route you were thinking and need more, contact me via the website.

Oh man, this is my specialty. My oldest was born on Halloween.

I start by going to the party stores to see what kind of loot bags, or cartons I can find that are Halloween themed. Several years ago I found some that were designed like Chinese take out boxes with spider, ghost, and witch prints. I've also used collapsable treat buckets. The kind that look like pumpkins or something and they will fold up flat.

Then I see what kind of favors they have. I like to go with creepy things that can still be played with year round and not look too Halloween like. Super balls that look like eyes, creepy sticky hands, orange, black and purple are good colors for things too. I don't just go with "generic" type toys, I get totally Halloween stuff too. Vampire teeth, hillbilly teeth, shaped erasers, pencils, bendy figures, slime, noisemakers, stickers, tattoos, the keychains that when you squeeze them their eye balls etc pop out (kids LOVE those things), chem-lights/glow sticks, light up necklaces, some candy, note I said some, and cheap flashlights. I've found some that projected images with interchangeable lens covers, some that you put a face over the light so it lights up a ghost's (pumpkin, monster, witch etc) eyes and mouth, and I've found things that look like mini light sabers on a string, those go over really well.

I found some recently at the Dollar Tree that had a bunch of different colored lights and many different light settings that I took camping for the kids. They came on a lanyard too so we could see the kids clear across the other side of camp with those things on.

If I want to get really industrious, I'll find small stuffed toys, or action figure type toys to "top" the loot bags. Each kid only gets one, and they're the main prize of the bag. Sounds like a lot of dough eh? I've never spent more than $30 on party supplies. I'm one hell of a bargain shopper. Plus it really helps to go to the discount and dollar stores for prizes, as well as a wholesale party supply store. I can pick up a dozen erasers there for literally pennies. Oriental Trading Company has a LOT of cool favors, toys and crafts that are cheap as well. Hope some of that helped!! Good luck and have fun! =)

If you mean goody - try the dollar store, I get rings, bracelets, pencils and erasers, and little hand held toys (yo-yo's and such) for my daughters class party. They get enough candy at the party and tricker treating.
