On the Sims 2 website, the first thing I see is "Sims 2 'Glamour Life'" then it says it's available for digital download. I have some questions....

1. What is the digital download, and is it free?
2.If I get the digital download, will it make me uninstall it then re-install it if I get an expansion pack?
3. Did it make the Sims 2 slower?
4. Is it worth downloading?

As you know, you need to have the base game first of all - "The Sims 2" needs to be on your machine already. The digital download is just a fancy term for 'download'

1. What is the digital download, and is it free?
- NOT free, you will merely be downloading more fashions for your sims. New clothes, furniture and stuff like that. YOU MUST already have sims. :) Cost is $19.99

2.If I get the digital download, will it make me uninstall it then re-install it if I get an expansion pack?
- NO - you don't have to uninstall The Sims 2 to install any Sims 2 add ons or expansion packs (unless you get a new version of the base game like HOLIDAY EDITION)

3. Did it make the Sims 2 slower?
- Glamour Life could make your game run a little slower. It is NOT an expansion pack (EP). An EP will make your game run slower since there is more processing involved with the games.
- a way to check this is to use a special tool SEE BELOW*

4. Is it worth downloading?
- Most of us that play the game a lot already have downloaded other glam things from other websites. Like ModtheSims2. We get hair, clothes and other fashions including new furniture.
- The benefit of getting the official GLAM pack is that it is supported by EA and you don't have to spend weeks or months searching online sites for it. I don't have GLAM myself. But I already have over a thousand downloads that took me 2 years to accumulate. :)

=== Will it make your machine run slower? This is how you can tell for YOUR machine:
In the black box, pick The Sims 2 - run the test
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
- are the results all in green? Does it pass recommended?

then run the test for the other packs you want. (Try Family Fun Pack) If there are changes with red marks, then your system will probably run slower. If no red marks, your machine will run it fine!

Sounds like there was an error with the download. You should try re-downloading and installing once again.
