This is a bait question and mean. In seriousness, it is and belongs in the religion section with the other religion stories. I can't resist though--yes, the fiction section!!! Or maybe it should be limited to the "adult" section. Have you read it? All that stuff about raping virgins and Lot sleeping with his own daughters and getting them pregnant but still being one of God's favorite people! Please!!! Not very family values.

I'm not as judgmental of the bible as you. I think thats years of experience on my side. Yet it is more a reference book, not a basis for such grief from different thoughts or schools of religions. Its just a morality book of stories with historical references to anchor it close to the truth.

I think we have a tendency to place importance on "things" rather than actions.

I am a minister and do believe that works of history and faith are written and edited by mankind for a purpose. So reading lots of different points of interest and cultures is worth validating the historical "truths" of those times. Outside of the moral lessons.

I do recommend you read both of them- you can't argue a point if you don't know the point of reference. Well informed is well educated. Its worth the 82 hours of time it takes to read it all.

I believe that the Bible is a good historical tool that many excellent salesman interpret as they see fit to scare people into providing them with an income. If you want real answers, seek them directly from the Great Teacher I call God through prayer. Prayer is common to all religions. Answers are given as you are capable of understanding them when you quiet your mind and listen. Patience is necessary as a kindergartener cannot be expected to understand the concepts of physics. There are many other writings worthy of study as well as the Bible.

The Bible is the Word of God. No other book has stood the test of time. Over 40 men were inspired of God to write what they have written and God has preserved through the generations. You don't want to believe the Bible because it tells you that you are sinner and on your way to hell. It also tells you that the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and if you would believe and trust in that then your soul would never die. Psalms 12: 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Psalms 12: 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

The Bible has been proven by scholars and scientist, christian and secular, many, many times over. Everyday more and more is proven that was thought to be fictional history. The bible is a true account.

It belongs, for sure, in the humanities section, cross referenced between myth and philosophy

I disagree.

The Bible is an amazing Historical document collection, and is also an inspired spiritual guidebook of incomprehensible value.
