One thing I always noticed with Curry was his bad habit of keeping his chin high, never tucked it.

Donald Curry looked like he was going to replace Sugar Ray Leonard as the next great welterweight champion from 83-86. His brutal KO of WBC champ Milton McCrory was very impressive. Then he lost to unheralded Lloyd Honeyghan in Sept of '86 and he was never the same. John Mugabi was one of the hardest hitters of his day. However his chin had more glass than rock in it. Remember how badly hurt he was against James 'Hard Rock' Green? He did fight very courageously against Hagler but then was really exposed by Terry Norris.

An interesting fight. I say Curry dominates early but gets caught by one of Mugabi's power shots and loses by 8th round KO.

Two very good fighters and a good matchup Brent F! I believe that Curry had more boxing skills than "The Beast" Mugabi who has the edge in punching power. I could see both fighters exchanging some good punches especially early in the fight with Curry taking control about the 9th round with superior boxing skills and stamina. In about the 13th round a bruised and battered Mugabi is stopped with the referee halting the contest.

This fight would end with Curry on his knees in the corner. In my opinion, he couldn't take a punch, he could box and look very good doing it, I use to admire they way he would counter so effortlessly. The times that Curry was knocked out were bad knockouts. John hit very hard. The "Beast" would keep the pressure on Curry all fight long and Curry would box circles around him, that is until he got caught flush on the chin. Both of these were good but given Don's weak chin, I'd have to go with John, 8th round TKO. In their primes.

"Off paper", this might nicely be a annoying combat to call. there is not any reason to dislike Winky, yet he's not an particularly likable fighter. there are a number of motives to dislike Terry, yet he's particularly prominent. Norris has been disqualified three times for unlawful tactic. 2 of those have been to crybaby Luis Santana, an excellent much less likable fighter. nonetheless, one considerable reason human beings like Norris is with the aid of the fact he has an particularly thrilling form. the two he's taking you out or he is going out on his preserve. His terrific protection is his offense. Winky's form isn't very thrilling. the two Mosley fights have been thrilling yet that became through fact of Mosley. Shane fought a silly combat against an opponent he might desire to in no way beat. The varieties have been all incorrect for him and he made concerns worse with the help of attempting to be a "GQ" champion and leaving at the back of his boxing skills. it fairly is nonetheless unlikely that he could win yet he fought a silly combat and did not study a element interior the rematch. to boot that, Wright's maximum thrilling fights have been the only he lost to Hopkins and the only wherein he defeated Felix Trinidad, yet another who suffered from Wright's "cancerous" form. the reality is that Wright's form could placed up in simple terms as many issues for Norris because it did for Mosley. right here you have yet another speedy surpassed fighter, Norris, who has a tendency to desert protection and rather a pair of times gets caught for his efforts. Wright lacks the potential to make the main Norris and Norris' potential is particularly extra suited than that of Mosley. The protection is with regard to the comparable different than that Norris fights somewhat smarter than "dressmaker Shane". the different considerable distinction is that Norris is nearer to being a welterweight, on a similar time as Wright is gentle in simple terms above the 154 decrease. He could be approximately 7 to 10 lbs. heavier with the help of combat time. interior the top, Wright lulls Norris, and the team, to sleep along with his "extremely protective" form. He possibilities off a lot of Norris' offensive rushes and takes an unpopular decision, which many sense might desire to have long previous any incorrect way. Wright W12 split.
