- Wean yourself (presuming you can't go cold turkey). You need to convince yourself YOU are stronger than the candy. So give yourself an allotment, say...10 pieces a day. PUT the rest where you can't get to it, say in the freezer or to a friend or family member. Reduce your allotment every few days.

- Substitute something else....or...make a deal with yourself, for every piece of candy you also have to eat something you really despise.

- Drink a full 8 oz of water when the urge first hits, then wait at least 10 minutes. Do you still want it?

- Buy sugar free candies. Yeah..you still get the calories and some of it tastes very good, but...if you eat enough, it gives you cramps, gas and diarhea..makes you not want the stuff.

- Probably the best way is to really understand what this is doing to your body and that YOU are more important than the taste you get from the candy and just give it up.

Allow yourself a few pieces every so often...maybe once a week. It doesn't have to be a completely forbidden food IF you can behave in a controlled fashion and be moderate with it.

Hi there!

YOu probably are trying to avoid it, which makes you want it even more. I would suggest you do this since it seems to work for a lot of people.

Stick to no more than 1500 calories per day and try and stay active. How you eat those calories is up to you. I would suggest you eat the pick a mix as much as you want without going over 1500. This may seem wierd but what should happen is you will not longer covet the candy. In fact, you may start to get sick of it. It will lose its allure since you no longer are forbidden to eat it.

Keep in mind that innoculations to disease often contain some poison and this might help you see the logic.

After a while you will start to crave real food again and then you will be golden.

This seems to work for a lot of my clients.

I believe this answers your question, but if not, you may email me.

Good luck on your diet and fitness goals!

Go to your nearest Pick & Mix Anonymous meeting. Read the Big Book of Pick and Mix Anonymous and assert that you've become powerless over candy and your life has become unmanabeable. Claim that you have the disease of Pick-and-mixism. Report to a sponsor daily on your struggles with pick- and-mixism. Listen to her boring stories about her own struggles and how she conquered her ISM, but how she will always be sick.

Then learn to moderate like a normal person. :)
