Put your dog on a leash and say "NO!" firmly every time he/she looks at a pile. I know it's gonna be hard. We have a cow pasture behind us and once they broke out and got into our yard. Our dog was in paradise. Good luck!

The rolling is just a "dog thing" The water gun idea will help. Now, eating is usually a sign that the dog is lacking something. Pick up doggy multivitamins at the pet store. Put him on it, and you'll see an improvement.

If you find a way I WANT TO KNOW.
I train dogs for money and I can not keep mine from eating horse poo at times. They do not roll in it but they will eat it from time to time.
They get s super preimum diet and are very well trained as they will drop it if you tell them to leve it but they will pick it up as soon as your are not looking.

Carry a water pistol with you, and when he does it squirt him with the water, it takes a while, but will eventually work.
Atleast its only horse poo, my dog liked other dogs poo, how disguisting!
