I know folks who have tried it, thinking it was kind of like interactive self gratification - if you get my meaning - until someoone said "if it takes time away from your relationship it is a problem" (meaning if you would rather spend time online than with your real live lover, then yes, you are cheating).
By that criteria, casual 1 time things when you are on your own anyway seems like it couldn't be too bad - the important thing is to be honest with your spouse. If you are hiding it, it looks suspicious and they can feel threatened.
I have one girlfriend who told her husband what she was doing and she lets him read all the conversations - they both get turned on and hop into bed together. There is a good way to do anything in this world.

no it is not cheating. Cause you can't cheat with yourself.
