have you noticed that adherence to anti racism etc does not necessarily mean someone os a pleasint person?

i notice that broadcasters such as ***** steve allen on lbc radio and writers such as victor lewis smith are extremely careful about not making any racist or sexist comment on public media but that this might think that they were pleasnat ppl but in other areas they can be utterly nasty-in fact steve admitted that the company send them on courses to tell them what they can get away wiht-of course none of this devalues respecting everybody but it does kinda tarnish and show it up to be rather cynical and of course the whole concept is based on a lie as we are all different
please tell me something interesting as i think there is an important point here which i cant quite bring out fully

I think that some people are able to hide the fact that they are nasty and it shows in other ways here and there.

I don't know that it is a bad thing that they are obliged to refrain from racist comments on public media - I think it's good.

My feeling is that when you are on the receiving end of racism (or probably sexism - but I haven't encountered that one myself) the perpetrators are extremely nasty people who obviously don't care about anybody but themselves.
