I was wondering if I can get a DUI / DWI for paddling a kayak/canoe/row boat?

No,not if it does not have a motor! A "P.I."would be the likely charge.
If the cops are cool an concerned about your well being,Public Intoxication should be the charge.....But you never can tell these days.....They might just find the "OJ"knife in your canoe! But if the
canoe fits, you must acquit!Just be safe out there, after a "few"
beers(we know what that means, don't we?)It can be a long cold swim,or a long cold several hours in the "cooler"! I'm 155lbs,at that
weight approx. 31/2 to4 beers in 1 hour Will get me legally "drunk"!
0.08 in yours and my state. You may not feel impaired, however the law does not allow for that!....Also what say you fell out of your boat, with no life jacket,no Buddy's,no boat and you've had a
"few" beers. It could be a long cold swim to Long Beach,or.......
you catch my "drift"! So be careful, never admit ,"i had a couple
of beers",as that gives" probable cause" to the cops! And there
goes your rights! Thanks for playin'!....Nate Profane Dallas Tx.

Don't know CA but in at least some states, yes. People have been convicted of DWI on a bicycle by the way.
