Why not forgive yourself. We all make mistakes. Move forward, not backwards. If possible, ask for forgiveness from anyone you may have hurt, unless to do so would hurt them more.

Just come as you are, You don't need a long prayer, Just ask God to forgive you of all your sins throguh the blood of Jesus Christ. If you truly mean it, God will forgive you, Then live for God. That is what is called Faith.

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.

If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't perfect.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.

First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.

How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?

It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.

One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.

Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.

If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.

If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.

How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.

Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.

If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.

How likely is that????

Think about it.

The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

How about one from an atheist? :oP

Hey God.

I need a hand.

I won't insult your intelligence by asking for forgiveness. Especially since I knew the rules before I broke them, and just went ahead and did it anyway. I reckon we both know how hypocritical that would be of me.

But I never meant to be wicked - I just got weak, and you know that's the truth.

So if you can, do you think you can talk a bit louder and maybe a bit sooner next time temptation comes my way and I find it hard to resist?

In return, I will speak more quietly and less quickly about being such a great Christian. And just keep doing the best I can.

Thanking you in anticipation of a little help down here.

Yours Sincerely,

A human who tries.

Amen.

classychris, if you would like an 'idea' of what to say in a sinners prayer, you might pray something like what I'm including below. However, change it to what is in "your heart", what 'you' want to share with God.

Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. Please forgive me for my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior.
In Jesus' name.
Amen

"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13 (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." —Ephesians 2:8,9 (NIV)

If you have prayed the sinner's prayer, it is only the beginning of your new life. To have a deeper relationship:

1. Read your Bible everyday to know Christ better.
2. Talk to God in prayer every day.
3. Tell others about Christ.
4. Worship, fellowship, and serve in a Bible believing church where Christ is preached.
5. Demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others.

If you do not have Bible study materials available after you make your decision, you can get them free from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. If you do not have a Bible, ask them if they can also send you one along with the materials. It is a toll free number to request materials. 1-877-2-GRAHAM

I pray this helps you and may God Bless you in your new life with Christ.

Why my dear, simply find a place where you can be quiet and say what ever you want to say to your Heavenly Father. I assure you that he will hear.

Asking forgiveness implies that one has a change of heart and therefore will change one's ways. As Christ said to the woman caught in adultery, "Go your way and sin no more lest worst come to worst."

God wants YOUR prayer, not something somebody else wrote for you. So just say what ever is in your heart. He cares.
