just so you know, my cd room does play dvds, but i´m not sure of how i can save it...

i forgot to mention, i already have NERO, but i´ve never used it... does it save a dvd to the computer, besides burning cds?

Copy the contents of the DVD and save them in your computer.

I've found DVD shrink to be useful, which is downloadable from here:
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/
it may be illegal in some countries so best check first and also check you aren't violating any copyright
it also integrates directly to Nero

Use DVDShrink...you can save the contents of the DVD with it.
