"The evidence is overwhelming that marijuana can relieve certain types of pain, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms caused by such illnesses as multiple sclerosis, cancer and AIDS -- or by the harsh drugs sometimes used to treat them. And it can do so with remarkable safety. Indeed, marijuana is less toxic than many of the drugs that physicians prescribe every day."

You're assuming there's some logic to the decision to criminalize weed. There's none that I know of, other than some make the claim that it is a "gateway" drug. Of course the same can obviously be said for many prescription medications and alcohol.

Quoting Dr. Elders is like quoting Frankenstein to the right wingers.

It most definitely should be legalized because then the govt can control it and take the money out of the hands of the peddlers which either lace the weed or push other stronger, more dangerous, but cheaper drugs.

I stop using an dealer that offers me anything but the weed that i ask for.

There is a medication that is call Marinol. It is a controlled substance and it is basically the oral form of Marijuana. It should be in your PDR. Better yet if you have a drugs facts and comparisons it would give you probably even more information on it.

Well, of course it SHOULD be legalized. That's a big no-brainer! But will it? Nah - it's much more interesting for the government to criminalize it.

i agree, but the main reason the govt wont legalize it is because they cant control the sell like tobacco. so many people already have acess to it and will continue to sell it

Legalized for folks with medical needs, sure.

Weed causes serious memory loss with long term use.

Also, addicts (yes, you become addicted) lose all motivation to actually do anything with their lives.
