Why would you ever allow someone to hurt you? If you've been going to the same hairdresser for some time, you should have told her by now. If you go to a different person, a loud "YELP" should give her a clue that she's hurting you.

If your hair is extremely curly, they should probably cut it dry. Curly hair is different on each person- it does such different things that it is hard to tell what it will do once it is dry when it is cut wet. Aside from that, what sort of of conditioner is she using? Maybe she needs to use soemthing heavier and then massage a leave in into the hair before combing. Either way, there should be a constant communication between you and the stylist abotu how to incorporate your desires with your shape and appearance and what will work for you. If ther eis not, go find one that does communicate and knows how to apply what he/she learns from you and about you to your haircut.

Well, first and foremost, change your hairdresser. Someone who ignores your pleadings, deserve all you said. That said, hairdressers are well aware that before doing anything to curly hair, they should detangle it. The best and cheapest remedy is use Johnson's spray detangler, which is about $3 and does wonders. You could apply this product, before you visit any salon.

Tell her she's hurting you or offer to comb your own hair. She shouldn't get offended and if she does, she's not very mature.
I say just tell her to take it easy.
