Usually the shampoo girl or assistant is tipped out by the stylist at the end of each day per service. It is still not unusual for them to be tippied by the client, however, if they give a good shampoo. About $2 is a good tip for that sort of thing.

I would say 5 to 10 dollars tops. I have always tipped generously because I used to live off of tips so I understand. Unless they do a really crappy job then we'll need to rethink that! lol....NO. I dont have money to just give away but it's hard nowadays to be a little generous and stick out from the rest of the rude crowd. How come when you go somewhere people always complain? And IF EVERYONE thought the way some people did about "oh it's their job" I bet we would all have bad haircuts! lol. Hm, I like to see how you would feel after washing hair or waiting on tables and getting no tip to make your day after getting a lousy paycheck on the side. See what I mean? But hey, I respect all people's thoughts so w/e suits you. Why is it so hard to stick it out and be nice for a change? Without expecting something so great in life.....Dude, tip what you feel you should and go from there. Have a nice day and hope the 'do rocks!

If they are ONLY washing your hair, then I wouldn't tip them. They will split the tip with the person who is cutting your hair. I tip around $4 - $5.

I always tip mine at least $5.00

I wouldn't like the job of washing other peoples hair all day so I tip accordingly.

$5 If they do a good job.
$3 if it's decent

But aren't haircuts like $8-$10 anyway.

Ask her how much she gives to the lady at the hospital who cleans the floors when you go visit a loved one there. How much does the haridresser give that lady? See what she says. Or how much do you tip the man who changes your oil, or who puts on new tires for you, or who fixes your toilet when it's broken. TIPPING IS THE BIGGEST SCAM GOING, AND MOSTLY IT MAKES ONE FEEL GUILTY, JUST LIKE PAN-HANDLERS MAKE US FEEL GUILTY!

Not so much as a dime, why tip someone for doing the job they are being paid to do?
