depends on what you mean by true. There are many persian breeder web sites that have pictures and listings of the silver tabby.

Go to www.cfainc.org & look up Persians. I am sure you can find a breeder that has them. I have been to CFA cat shows & seen them many times over the years.

Yes.. a friend of mine has one in Texas.. BUT.. other than that one.. I have not seen any.. you are right.. I wonder why they are so rare????
