I have black hair too due to dying it and keeping it that way. I found all you need to really do is cut a style into it. People occasionally still ask if i'm goth and I just politely correct them and tell them that although I have black hair it does not a goth make.
Besides, you shouldn't care what other people think you are. People as human nature feel the need to put people into some sort of genre box as they are more comfortable classifying things. Personally it makes me giggle as I know the truth.
Just be you, make-up and hair aside you are a person that chooses to present themselves how they feel comfortable...just go for it!

Black hair without a goth/emo image.
Keep the make-up natural and to a minimum. I presume you don't go round looking pale with tonnes of eyeliner.
Bring some colour into you wardrobe and take a look at some new hairstyles that are ultra feminine and fashionable.
Just be yourself and comfortable. Flick through the mags and see how other celebs manage black hair.
My Spanish friends hair is jet black and shes really feminine and looks so sophisticated and stylish she stands out more than with her hair dark brown.

How silly, you dont need to be goth or emo to have black hair.. why not change if its been black since you were little< or put some blonde highlights in it or funky colours! and dress in bright colours and like everyone says dont go heavy on makeup!

its not ur hair colour that detrmines if u look like a goth or emo....its how u style it and what clothes u wear. get a few reddish highlights in it and change the style, go for a modern funky style. black hair is nice,,,,,,just remember the clothes and make up are the way people asume your a goth. xx

Introduce color into your wardrobe and lighten up on the makeup. You can still wear red on your lips if you take it easy on everything else. THink along the lines of Snow White. She had the raven hair without coming across goth. Also think '50s pin-up girls. In that tradition or style, bold colors really work, and I think it's making a bit of a comeback, but only with the truly bold women! Rock it, girl!

Get a bit of colour in your cheeks and get a hair style cut into it. Choppy layers and a fringe maybe?
I have black hair and look nothing like a goth!

We save it sparkling basically like anybody else, with the help of washing it. yet because of the fact this is severe maintanace this is impractical to bathe it daily. relatively despite if this is organic Afro hair. It takes a competent 2-3 days once I wash my hair for it to "un-decrease" and bypass lower back to primary. After that factor is over then the good hair days can start up. And our hair does not scent as plenty or get oily as much as different races so there won't be a ought to bathe it well-known.

The Goth image is mainly achieved through clothing and accessories, not hair colour or style.
