It depends how it is shipped. Is it slated for an afternoon or morning delivery? Most of them can give you an approximation with in 4 hours. Other than that, I think you are asking for too much. You can't have any idea how many or how few deliveries and pickups they will have on any given day. Why don't you request the sender to make it so that no signature is required? Or why not have a package delivered to your job?

They can't tell you because they don't know.

It depends on the number of packages for that day. Typically they have a set route. So the less packages they have, the sooner they can deliver. Also for signed pacakges, sometimes it takes a few minutes for someone answer the door, etc. All add up time. However, because they DO have a set route, they can estimate the time they'd be at your neighborhood. Call the carrier, they may be able to tell you a window. I know with UPS, I'd get my packages in mid to late afternoons just because how their route goes.

There are a lot of scenarios that can happen when delivering to homes or routes, vehicle problems etc. The mail is never the same time either if it is being delivered to the home.

They send lots of different packages on the same delivery truck and it follows a route. Stops on that route may take longer or shorter, not to mention actual travel time. Thus they can't give a specific time.

They do this because they dont know where they will be at certain times of the day. Most companies now say morning or afternoon but not all. You can however call them after 13:00 and ask what time they will be there and they will call the driver and ask him

Because they do not want to commit to an exact time as there are all sorts of things such as traffic, weather etc. that can cause delays beyond their control and customers neither care nor understand and want to sue if they are 5 minutes late...

They don't know the time they will be. It very well could be 'in between 10am and 7pm'. Now Fed-Ex.. If it's shipped with a certain priority (IE Priority overnight) you *should* have it before 10am the next working day.

For the most part, they are all frustrating. :/

well u have to factor in unexpected traffic and delays....those cannot be predicted and therefore times arent assigned. if they were a lot of ppl would get upset because their packages are not there on time

Actually If you go to their website, they will have when the items are being shipped, for ex. from 10 am-4 pm etc.

If they gave you a time, then they would be obligated to deliver it by then. This way they get it to you when they get it to you.
