Where the scar is, is just a vulnerable spot to get irritated. Could just be the diaper. Keep an eye on it. If it doesn't get better, or gets worse, take him in. Keep his diaper as dry as possible.

I would get an appointment with your pediatrician. To soothe him give him a warm bath and then put vaseline on the scar before you put his diaper on. Maybe the scar has become irritated from his diaper, or something has gotten into the tip of his penis.
I have a 10 and 4 year old boy, and we have gone through these similar situations.

It could be nothing more than an inconveniently misplaced diaper rash.
Let it air out as much as possible and use a good diaper cream on it and/or a medicated powder. If after a couple of days it hasn't started to clear up then I would take him to his doctor to have it checked out.
I doubt it is much to worry about though, just keep an eye on it to be sure.
Good luck.

Call his pediatrician. He could just have some type of diaper rash try changing him more often. Then again it could be something serious. Sorry but I am not a doctor. My advice is always if you think something is wrong go to the doctor...Good Luck I hope you son's "Peter" heals.

It could be an irritation from the urine on the sensitive skin. He could have been itching it, or the diaper could have been rubbing on that spot causing irritation. Disposable diapers are not the best environment for the genital areas, so try keeping it clean and dry (try having him wear underwear for a few hours a day). Use some corn starch powder or some desitin to keep it dry too and relieve itching. If it doesn't clear up in a couple days, I recommend to see your pediatrician.

My son was circumsized and he has never had any problems. Thank God. Maybe your son has a condition that doesn't let him heal properly :( Or maybe he fell on it wrong or bumped it. Ouch! I would at least call the Dr. and see what he had to say about it. Good luck.

Some times it can become infected from not being cleaned properly often. Not to say your nasty but I had that problem with my son, I was afraid to pull on his little stick and I would just soap him up well there, when I should have been pulling the skin down, even though he's circumcised he had folds of skin that needed to be cleaned out.

It could be irritation from his diaper, bring him to the doctor just to get it checked out. He may need a prescription for something to help as he says it hurts.

Its a sensitive area, so maybe just rubbing on his diaper the wrong way could have caused it, best to be seen by a doctor though.

Neither of my sons (one is seven and one is two and a half months ) has had any problems in their circumcision area so I have no experience here you best bet would be to at least talk to your pediatrician (by phone or e-mail ) and see if he/she would like you to bring your son in to have it looked at, they may be able to help you without seeing him.
