Why?
When did you go on it?
Do you feel a difference?
Do you think you will be on them forever?
Did you experience any side effects?
I have been prescribed Wellbutrin in my 9th month of pregnancy and was worried about the side effects on my baby when breastfeeding so I haven't started them and don't know if I will.

I am going to my OB on Friday to ask about PPD. I lost my baby girl almost a month ago, and this past weekend I have started to really notice some depression setting in. It may have been that I was so busy taking care of my 2 year-old that I didn't really notice it before. I am going to ask my OB about herbal remedies, and other natural/non-medicated things I can do because I don't want to go on drugs for this. I have also read that exercise can help. I got the OK from my doctor to start an exercise routine. When you exercise your body releases Endorphins that help boost mood. I hope you get the help you need. Good luck to you.

I was put on an antidepressant after my daughter was born. She was tiny and sick. She spent a very long time in the hospital. i stayed with her so I was away from my family and other kids too. Yes I can tell a difference. no, i don't plan on being on them forever. i am planning to come off them next year. I am not sure about the side effects. Possibly less sexual desire. Could be meds or could be just stress. Good Luck and congrats on the baby.

I personally did not take antidepressants during pregnancy or breastfeeding but know a couple of friends who did. You are doing the right thing for yourself and your new baby. Talk to your Dr. and a Lactation nurse (call the hospital and they will let you talk to one on the phone). A lacatation nurse knows EVERYTHING you can take. I was able to have a bone scan and continue to breastfeeding. All the DRS. said no--but the lactation nurse said differently. She arranged a conference call with all my Drs., a nuclear chemist and some hot shot DR. who wrote a book regarding what you can and can't take during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Good luck!!!
PS - for all of you men--don't answer if you have no experience!!!

They classified it as PPD but it was the Depo shot some af the women who cant take it are those with a history of depression either being themseves or family. Bc you carry the gene and the hormones will cause depression.
I went on it at about 8 wks PP.
Yes I felt the diffrence
I was on them about 10 months with councling as well
Side effects decrese sex drive, dry mouth
If its safe during pregnancy its safe during breastfeeding thats the rule of thumb! Good luck and I hope you feel better

I stopped taking the antidepressants when i got pregnant, for me it was better. But if you talk to your doctor, he will let you know what is safe for you. I'm sure he wouldn't give you anything that would harm you or your baby if you are honest with him and tell him your concerns. I was on wellbutrin, and its ok as long as you don't smoke, otherwise it can cause problems, as it is a drug used to help you quit smoking and you can't smoke when you are on it. I actually got nicotine overdose from it !! Sad, hey? Well, any ways i hope that helps, and good luck to you and your baby!!

Well I'm not sure how they will affect the baby but I'm sure they wouldn't have prescribed it if it would hurt it. I do know the effects of wellbutrin on your personality. My mother has to take them everyday. They helped alot in her mood, she used to get very irritated by small things and now she is a very happy person. It doesn't dull her down, she still gets upset but it keeps her from going overboard like she used to. She also thinks clearer according to her, like making quick decisions, especially decisions when she is getting upset.
