Firstly learn to read aloud well, you may be asked to read a section of script with very little time to practice. If you sing, then have sheet music for at least 2-3 songs you can do (and make sure you have practiced them BEFORE the audition). Check local papers, local theaters and find an audition. Call them and ask what you need for the audition - they may say just a monologue - then you need to find one and memorize it.
Check all your local directories, local theater groups, etc. If you really want to follow your dreams - then you need to make them happen. Go for it!

once you get a part in a westend play its not to easy to get ou tof it, i would suggest joining a theatre group or see if theres any school plays going on, that way if you really don't enjoy it, its that a big deal (aslong as its not the night before the show). also remember to drink loads!
