I tried to communicate with this guy whom I met on line about 6 months ago. I asked if he was afraid of me and if he was afraid that he might feel rejected by me. His answers to both questions are "yes". I think there's a link between his fear of me and of rejection on my part, although I don't know what's the cause of such fears. I've got a better education than he (master's vs. bachelor's), and my English proficiency is a lot better than his. I always sense his insecure feelings, though I don't know why he feels this way. What are your opinions? I thank you for sharing with me your opinions in advance.

p.s I'm from Taiwan, and he's from Singapore.

I think the guy like you however since hes a guy, he feels like he isn't in power. im not being rude it's just that guys prefer to be better then the girl they like.
hes scared of u as in a way that he thinks that ull think that u desereve someone better then him (if tht made sense). he obviously doesnt want to be rejected but hes also not sure of being with u, as well ur more of a achiever thn him and also because of ur heritage difference.
u should let him be in power a little, let him control things so he isnt afriad of u.

You feel your education is better than his, you feel your English is better than his are you making this known to him or is he figuring this out making you inferior to him.

I don't understand why he is fearing you or why he feels you will reject him unless you are making him feel he doesn't measure up to your standards.

If you truly like this person, let him know how you feel about his fears and communicate with him to see if you have done something wrong to bring it to this point and then and only then can you get the answers you deserve which starts with this guy.

So why are you spending so much time with someone not on your level?
Do you really want someone who is so shy that it feels like you're pulling responses out of him?
Too much work.
Find someone more compatible.

men are normally uncomfortable when it comes to women in a higher education level or job than they are. which is why you should find a guy who's comfortable with himself and what you have and who you are.

If he is self-conscious about this, he is NOT going to get over it, so maybe you two should go your separate ways.
