Ruffino Ducale Gold is my favorite that I can affordibly drink whenever I'd like (around $35 in a store and $90 in a resturant) but my favorite favorite is Opus One (around $145 in the store and $325 in a resturant). I love a nice red wine with a rare to medium rare steak (cooked on a really really hot grill so it gets a little charred), sauteed asparagus, carmalized onions and homemade garlic parmesean mashed potatoes. OK, now I'm getting hungry...

My favorite wine is usually a good Pinot Grigio. I usually buy Santa Margherita, which is about $20-$30 a bottle. This usually goes well with Pork, Chicken, and Fish. Also is a good desert wine do to the crisp apple, and pear taste that it has. Good luck, and enjoy. Remember: Always drink responsively, and NEVER drink and drive!!!

~Cheers

Penfolds makes an affordable Shiraz's ($12 to $35) that works great with grilled steak; one of my favorite combinations.

Shiraz, Aussie for Shirah, not necessarily expensive ,2002 was the peak year, but 03,04 are good too. Steaks, cheeses, spicy pasta dishes. Try Trader Joe's for good prices.

Yellow Tale Merlow. Serve with red meat. It is priced very well and tastes great. Red always with beef and white always with chicken or turkey.
