A computer is anything but a glorified typewriter. Microsoft word can check and fix your spelling mistakes, has a thesaurus with a click of a button. You can change your font style and color. Count your words with just a button. You can translate and write in a different language. You can have it read back to you.

Typewriters were a manual medium of merely transferring what was in your mind onto paper. No more.

Computers, along with being technologically advanced, are not mere data storage devices. They link technologies - act a TV screens, radios, are your window to the Internet.

And as for the fact that technology leads to technology and thus a typewriter somewhere was responsible for the computer, my question to you will be 'Do you believe that children are glorified versions of their parents?'

I'd give more reasons, but it sounds like you're looking for homework answers, and I won't do your work for you.
