I was treated really badly by guys at my last highschool. Now I go to a girls only school, and whenever guys get on my bus, or pass me on the street, I always look down. I've never really been friends with any males, but I haven't always had this problem. What should I do, and why do I find it so hard to look them in the eye?

Oh My Gosh...me 2...But I don't go to an all girl school, tho' & I kind'a found a way to solve this problem...But sometimes, I'll try to steal a look @ them & find them trying to steal a look @ me!!!... Sometimes -when I have to do group projects- that the best time to look @ them, 'coz u have to work as a group. I only find that if the guy lyks u & u lyk them back, dat's when u feel more comfortable around them...I can't stare deep into their eyes, but I can look them in the eye for 5-10 seconds or so, then I shy away....But when u get a better answer, please let me know...or atleast post a comment to me or to your best answer...It's gonna show uo after you choose a best answer...Good Luck...& Thank U!!!

i had the same problem as a guy....but then eventually i got rid of that shyness.....go socialize more...then u get more confidence....say hi to men u usually come into daily contact with..this will build up ur confidence...thats what i did ...talk to any woman i usually come into contact....lack of eye contact usually shows shyness...but some guys like that....but u cannot be over shy....im sure those guys that treated u bad were a bunch of punks who will be hobos in a few years....most guys treat girls properly....if u smile at guys they usually smile bak....just dont think about it too much....when u think about it and worry about it...it just gets worse and worse...just do it....i had the same problem and i was like ..will i ever change...but after being around more of the opposite sex.. i felt much better and gained alot of confidence! ...dont let a few guys who treated u bad take over ur life like this...that is what they r doing..basically hurt u and changed ur life style...im sure u will find a great guy cause alot of them r out there and u wont b able to find one unless u make eye contact and give them the hint u like them...then they will approach u... good luck!

i do the same and i don't know why i do that either. what i know is i missed out on great people by looking away. i think it might be that you think the boys might be like the ones in your old high school, so deep inside you don't want to get hurt again. for me i think it's that i've lost trust in most guys. anyways if you find out the answer tell me too....

When someone looks down like that, they are stopping people from seeing what they are thinking. It is quite normal and you will change when you are ready to. Don't worry all is well.
