Why did he fast (also an act of worship)
How was he tempted by the devil (did the devil tempt god?)
Why did he say 'may YOUR will be done'. If he is God is it not his will?
Why did he say only the Father knows when the hour is? (does the Father know things that the son doesnt?)

Does the muslim position not make more sense, that he was a great Prophet of God?

I use to be catholic so I understand the trinity: 'We believe in Jesus Christ, the only son of God, eternally begotten of the father, god from God, light from light, of one being with the father'

according to the above, jesus should have known everything the father knew

Christians believe in the Holy Trinity.
1. God the Father
2. God the Son
3. The Holy Spirit of God
*These 3 entities are all 1!

Check out Genesis 2;26 Then God said, "Let us make people in OUR image, to be like ourselves."---

The Son, Jesus Christ is the one and only son of God. So that is why he prayed! He showed us how to worship, he resisted being tempted by the devil, his mission here on earth was to be an "example" for us!
It's great that you're at least asking this question, BUT you might also want to read Matthew 7;1-5

Because this is what happens when idle monks are left to write the word of god ...(idle time is the devils workshop )...U end up with schizoid scriptures that few can see through ......he fasted to clear his head i would think if he actually did in fact fast, since u nor I was there how could we know ? Don't tempt me! Talking to himself seems to be a little schizo maybe those monks influence again? what happens when u combine a god whith a man. Most men are naturally ignorant...what prophecy he was a spiritual teacher or Savior...eat the food not the fork!
don't recall ever a word of prophecy only promises for goodness
sake did he do some Criss Angel as well what's it worth!???
And what's Methadrine got do do with it sure u didn't mean "mythology" ?

if you understand the concept of the Holy Trinity, you will know that jesus is the spiritual son of God, not God the father himself. He came to earth in human form to guide mankind. He actually became one of us in every way, this is why he fasted, was tempted by the devil and when he said "your will be done" in that prayer he was teaching us how to pray. I have great respect for muslim beliefs, but before you sound so critical, make sure you understand the information.

Hey, too many questions....!

Jesus was both God and man, but he chose not to use his Godly power. He came to earth as a human child so that we could relate to this and understand it. God is a triune deity, and Jesus was just one of the three persons of this deity.

As he was born on the earth, one of the other persons of the triune deity was called the Father - I think we can understand that, don't you?

So, if he is setting us humans an example, and chooses not to reveal his Godly power, he therefore prayed to the Father. It would have looked rather strange if he had prayed to himself, wouldn't it?

He also had to overcome the temptations of the force of evil in the universe, and he had to do this as a human being too, as the one true Israelite.

Because he chose not to use his Godly power, he also said, correctly, that only the Father knew when he will return - that of course was the true situation at that specific moment in time.

But when Jesus was resurrected, he returned to the heavenly realms, and did not need to hide his power or glory any longer. So of course he then knew, after his resurrection, as much as the Father knew, and so would then have known excactly when he was going to return.

We can also now pray directly to Him, and not necessarily only to the Father.

That is a good question and is also hard to explain, but Christ mentioned many times in the Gospels that He and God are one. Christ is God in the flesh.

I'm not sure if you've heard of the Trinity, but it's God, Christ and the Holy Spirit. They are all the same but have different functions so to speak.

Christ is God in the flesh, Christ is God's physical form, the Holy Spirit is God's spiritual form.

**I just want to be clear, Christ, God and the Holy Spirit are ONE, the SAME.**

70X7 explains it well, the things you mentioned were done as an example for us.

To answer your question, yes, Satan tried to tempt God, but God used that in a positive, He allowed Satan to put Job through horrible things to show Satan that Job loved God not for the things God gave him.

I have answered this question 2 or 3 times already, But I don't mind to answer it again for you. Jesus was NOT GOD, He WAS THE SON OF GOD. But God dwell in Jesus without measure, meaning that all God is, is now in Jesus Christ, But that don't Put God only in Jesus & nowhere else for God is everywhere, The body Of Jesus Died, God NEVER DIES & NEVER WILL. God is & has always & always will be THE GREAT ETERNAL SPIRIT.

Jesus is not God. He is God's only-begotten Son. So many who answered your question claim that when Jesus said "I and the Father are one" he meant they were one body--but if you read John 17:11, you see what he meant: " And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are." He was praying to his Father in heaven about his disciples. He wanted them to be one(in unity) just as he and his Father were one (in unity)
Another good example of this is when a man and woman get married, the Bible says they become one flesh. Are they then one actual body or still two separate people but united by marriage? People use the " my Father and I are one " scripture to try to prove the trinity doctrine- By diligent study and by using sound reasoning, the truth becomes evident that Jesus and God are two totally separate spirit beings.

he is the son of god. he is a god and human

That is the whole symbolism of the cross. 3 entities = 1 god.

The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Jesus was human. The devil went to jesus and kicked some BS about how he could be powerful this and powerful that. Jesus said no.

As you say Jesus prayed, calling God father in all of his prayers execpt one and this is totally consistent with a view of God as a trinity The Son can pray to the Father.

Jesus is fully God and fully man

Jesus is not the same PERSON as the Father as God exists as three persons with one essence and three in persons

Ironically? the muslim position calls Jesus a prophet, yet sets asaide almost everything Jesus said. So I find it irionic you would quote Jesus although you set aside the substance of his claims, one example being his claim to be the Son of God another his claim that he would die on a cross as he said multiple times to his disciples and then did and rose again.

The muslim posiiton is that Jesus is NOT the Son of God and did NOT die on the cross but this sets aside most of what Jesus said

Because Jesus was sent down to live and be tempted the way we are every day, so that he could pay for our sins through crucifixion.

My church explained the trinity (God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit) as water, ice and steam- the same yet different.

If Jesus was a prophet, he was just a guy, and couldn't have redeemed us as he would have been fallen like every one else.
