I gave up my TV watching over a month ago now and I can't say I miss it either.

I really didn't agree with paying more and more for something that was getting worse and worse. So I waived my chance to renew my licence, detuned my TVs, Removed my Tuner card and called the TV Gestapo to let them know. They were quite nice about it, but I am still expecting a visit at some point.

So I can't tell you if you are missing out because I don't know. I can tell every one else that they are missing out though because you do feel like a new person again.

Ditch your TVs!

Just go with the flow and do not be too harsh on yourself. This is human nature that we get bored of a certain routine; certain things and yes of course people as well. So if you are trying to break a habit, it is a good decision provided you feel good after that. And not ask anyone if you have missed something. Be proud of your decision. And if you think after a few days that you want to just catch up then also go for it. The point is do what makes you feel good about yourself. No questions, no regrets....And if you are trying to break a habit, do it in small steps. Watch tv for five days then four, then three days....then two hours, 15 mins.......

As part of a balanced life style, there can't be any harm in allowing yourself a little indulgence now and again. Fortunately with a considerable amount of 'show it as it is' programmes, viewers are in a position to observe and make up their own minds. Do yourself a favour; read as much background material as possible and look for programmes that focus on unbiased debate. By adopting this approach, you will have the ability to criticise television in a constructive fashion. TV has given us a lot, so lets go with the flow.

Welcome to the world of the totally mad. TV is both good and bad. On the bad or downside are such as being bombarded by advertising, which will inevitably influence us. There is also the couch-potato culture which results from watching too much TV. On the upside, TV can be very informative and in some soaps, plays and dramas, real social issues can often be dealt with.

Good for you! I think you answered your own question when you said you have reclaimed your life. Also, there's studies that say the bigger the TV and the closer you are to it can mess up your energy. I have a friend that has seizures in front of big TVs. Switch to reading, it actually stimulates your brain. Take the next step, donate your TV to a place that has a group of people sharing one TV.

You're doing OK, just need to work on the English a bit.

We stumbled across a soap on telly the other night, East Enders I think...what a load of rubbish.

We normally just watch the news at 10 maybe....too busy living my life to watch other people mess thiers up.
