My dog only eats once a day, and sometimes he doesn't. I checked him out and theres no worms... He had been like this since i got him 8 months ago (puppy)!
I take him out for games etc.... so he gets hungry but he never does !
Help please...

Try softening your puppys food with warm water to make a gravy. Try changing the food gradually. Read the labe to see how much it should have. Different breeds need different amounts. Maybe it would eat better after some exercise or a long walk. Make sure nobody in the house is feeding it table food. m

Depends on the dog and the age of the dog. Some dogs will eat until they explode. Not literally! Big dogs generally eat in the morning and at night, little guys need a noon meal. Keep a close eye on there weight. A had a friend who had a cocker female that wouldn't eat. It took 11 years before the vets found she had gum problems. Poor thing, she had a few teeth pulled and now she's making up for lost time.

He should be eating between once - twice a day. It could be a health issue so I would take him to the vet. It might also be his food. Some dogs can be picky, he might not like it. Try giving him another kind, or put a small amount of milk in it (my dogs love that). Regardless, I would have him checked just to be sure.

I would feed a dog twice a day until a year old, then only once. Maybe you should try feeding him a smaller meal in the morning, and then another one around dinner time. Check the dog food bag, it should tell you how much to feed for his breed. Also, it never hurts to mix in a little canned food. Good luck!

Certain breed of dog should eat a certain amount a day! Check with the pets store/vet and they will tell you the correct amount!
I had the same story with my dog, and that was because I used to give him all kinds of treats besides the food and he liked them so much he didn't want to eat his food and he prefered the treats!
It could be that your puppy doesn't like his food!
The best way to know if he is ok is to weigh him and to see if his weight is ok for his age and breed.

You should never feed a dog once a day or twice a day they are human beings like us so at least 3 times a day a little training snack would also be ok ;)

When a puppy is still with it's litter mates, there is always a battle for food. When they no longer have to fight for it, they sometimes lose interest. This happened with my puppy. I took him completely off commercial dog food, and started him on a raw "BARF" diet. He eats twice a day now, and licks the dish clean every time! Not to mention I can see my reflection in his coat!

I only feed my once a day. But I know toy breed have more problem with their food, too fussy and eat small meals during in a day.
How to fix it?
I think when you have more than one dog and still feed them once a day. They will go to having their dinner as quick as they can otherwise they know they will miss out.

1-2 times a day is good enuf.maybe u could try other brands of dog biscuit or other food to see if there is any change in appetite.if it doesnt have effect,then perhaps ur dog is meant to be like that.they wil know when to eat when they're hungry.
