This chick I work with just gave me a program and menu from her wedding after the fact, and I didn't even attend. What am I supposed to do with the stuff? I'm just going to throw it away, but what's the general protocol for something like this?

That was very rude of her since you didn't attend, even if you were invited. If she had given you one of the actual favors, the little gifts that are placed on the tables, then it would be different. A menu and a program aren't favors, they are trash for everyone except the bride and groom as a memento. Even the guests don't keep them.

I keep the favors in a box from weddings and parties that I've been to, but I've never kept a menu or a program. And I've never been given one when I didn't attend either.

Throw them away without her knowing, and the next time she or someone else tries to pawn off their junk on you, just say thanks but no thanks.

Why did she do that? Some people keep wedding favors as a keepsake but normally the favor is like souvenior (bells, CD, etc.). Personlly, I think I would chunk the menu and program in the trash. Most folks throw away the program anyway.

The program and the menu? Why on earth would anyone give that to you? The only thing I can think of is that maybe she thinks you could use if if you're getting married, but even so wouldn't she say that. I'd pitch it if you don't want it.

Have never heard of that, I would throw them away as well as I have so much paperwork and junk at home anyway!! If it is edible I would eat it, in fact I think I would only ever give edible favours as most people don't need junk in their house, and wedding favours are basically unwanted junk. Sorry, but they are.

She's letting you know that she is aware that you didn't attend her wedding & is a little miffed about it. If you work in close proximity you might want to tell her why you weren't able to attend, otherwise, go on about your business. And toss the junk.

I've always wonder what to do with that too. Use them for a scrapbook or create some sort of shadow box. I would try to recycle the paper goods. If you have food left over (candy, sweets, etc.) share them with small children you may know.

I dont think most people do this, its kinda of funny. But I would assume she showed you because she was proud of the wedding? I dont think this is normal so ya throw it away.

Oh my god, that is so tacky! And how darn right rude! (On the bride's behalf, of course!)

If you didn't attend, then there's no reason to keep them as momento's. Just throw them away.

Pitch them. 99% of the crap from weddings gets pitched before it even gets home. What a waste of money.
I think that was tacky of her too.

If you are close to her than keep it in a shoe box with other mementos of days past. Otherwise if it is really pretty, keep it and use it for crafts later one.
