You must meet the following criteria to obtain immediate accession:
1) Be in acceptable physical condition.
2) Don't care what MOS you are assigned.
3) Possess a High School Diploma
4) Under the age of 45
5) Obtain the minimum scores on the ASVAB
6) Have no criminal history or dependants
7) Have no history of drug use
They can send you as quickly as 7 days if you meet the above criteria, but you will basically have no "options" of your job choice.
If you don't meet one of the above criteria, it can take anywhere from 30 days to several months, depending on the issue.
Good luck.

That depends on the MOS you choose, and when the next available AIT is. You can choose an AIT that has openings right away, or you can choose one that is full for a couple of months. Talk with your recruiter, and weigh your options carefully. When I enlisted, I knew what I wanted and where I wanted to go. I signed my enlistment papers on January 13 and left for Basic Training on February 5. If it doesn't matter which MOS you want, you can go at just about any time. If you are wanting something that most people desire and are enlisting for, your wait time can be lengthy. Make sure when you sign your enlistment papers you get the station of choice in your contract. (IF you want to go to a particular state/country) Don't listen to the recruiters who tell you that you can pick it once you get to AIT. That is crap. If it is not in writing, you go based on the needs of the Army. Good luck to you and thanks for wanting to serve!

It varies - hubby passed the ASFAB and then had 6 weeks before boot camp started. I think it all depends on which training base has a rotation starting. He went to Ft. Leonard Wood (aka Ft. Lost In the Woods) Missouri and it was very difficult. My brother in law went to Ft. Jackson (aka Relaxin' Jackson) in South Carolina and he had an extremely easy time. Hope you do well! God bless you for wanting to join those who guard our country!!!!

"Hurry up and wait"..... You take your MEPS station evaluation and written ASVAB test when you receive notification from the Army. After that, it's up in the air depending on when the next cycle starts at various training centers.

You can leave as soon as a basic training cycle is begining. Tell your recuriter that you want to leave soon and he/she will set you up with whatever job training starts the soonest. If leaving soon is your only request, you will be very limited to what job you get. Choose your job wisely...

Unfortunately, you have to wait for a class to start. Right now you should be able to get in pretty fast, but it will depend on your MOS as hotmamacita said.
Good Luck

it depends on available training slots. They;re not going to push you to basic and start paying you so you can sit around waiting for your AIT class to start.
