Is he serious about obeying his commands? Yes.Keep in mind, that the 'old testament' was done away 'by God' and we 'Christians' are not under it per se. What the asker calls the '10 commandments' were done away with. However, under the 'new law' (new testament) nine of them were reauthorized. (The other one; Keep the Sabbath', had been authorized back in Gen. 2 (not part of God's old testament).

Yes, He's serious about all of them.
After looking at some other answers, consider this:

God had one commandment
"Do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil."
That did not work. Man was disobedient.

The Mosaic Law, or Ten Commandments were given to Moses.
That did not work. Man was a law-breaker.

The Levitical Law, consisting of 600+ ordinances was passed to man through the Levites (Levitical Priesthood.)
That did not make man obedient either; man was a law-breaker by nature, and actually thought that sacrificing millions of animals would fix the problem.

Jesus came to sacrifice Himself, and He gave us two Great Commandments.
"Love the Lord thy God with your whole heart, mind and strength"
and
"Love thy neighbor as thyself."

God is serious enough to make it simple again.
1 >10 > 613 >just 2

God's law(s) cover our relationship with Him and with our fellow man.

the ten commandments are part of the same chapter (Deutronomy) which promotes the beating to death of homosexuals, states that if a woman is raped, she must marry her rapist, instructs parents to kill disobedient children in public...and says that if a woman claims to be a virgin when she is married, and it turns out she is not, she should be stoned to death in public.... and so on... not to mention the bigotry...

''If you hear that in one of the towns, there are men who are telling people to go and worship other gods, it is your duty to look into the matter and examine it. If it is proved and confirmed, you must put the inhabitants of that town to the sword.'' (Deuteronomy 13:15-16)

For these reasons, I think I'll stick to my own moral 'commandments' rather than getting them from an archaic book written by some psycho I don't even know.

Not since Jesus obeyed the Father and became Lord of Lords and King of Kings because God told Moses in Deuteronomy 18:15 The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee,of thy brethren, like unto me,unto him ye shall hearken....St John 1:45 We have found him of whom Moses in the law,and the prophets, did write,Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.Matthew 23:35-40,Then one of them which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him,and saying,Master, which is the greatest commandments in the law? Jesus said unto him,Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it,Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

God made two separate covenants, the old and the new, We're now under the new covenant. It's humanly impossible to keep all these commandments, that's where grace comes in and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Why are you limiting it to the famous 10? I think He meant ALL. Including the one about having dominion over the earth in Genesis.
