So I have been with my partner and only him for a good 5 months. We recently started without a condom, and within the past 3 months I have had two yeast infections. Well one, but I feel another one coming on. I dont understand how, and im going to make an appointment today but has anyone been through this? I've never gone to get checked for a yeast infection i sorta assumed the first one was and it went away when i used the monistat, but I havent done anything different. I thought i got the first one from a bubble bath. I dont understand. Im old enough to go to the DR. on my own i just can't tell my mom cause she has mental problems and she acts crazy whenever something is wrong with me.

I actually do use Irish spring soap, and my bf and I always make sure to shower after sex. We end up taking a good 3 showers an hour, he's all about hygiene. Yes, I do pertain quite a bit of knowledge on certain subjects and thats because I love to read. I just wanted some real answer from real people. I was wondering if maybe the spermicide we were using could possibly do it? I told him to clean it, but him being a guy maybe he didnt clean it right?

I havent been peeing that much and I have been making it a habit to pee after sex and drink cranberry juice. But i do find myself feeling really dehydrated lately. I do have some diabetics in my family, but I really wouldnt think i would get it. And if you must know I am 17 Year old mom. My daughter is 2, and yes I am responsible. I have my own car etc, and I go to school and I do make my own dr's appointments. The reason i mentioned my mom is because this is the kind of stuff i would rather discuss with her, but if she werent so crazy i wouldnt have to ask strangers and my bestfriends mom's.

Yeast infections are due to the candida (yeast) fungus that is in our intestines. It gets eliminated, and can travel to warm, dark, moist areas (vagina, skin folds, between toes, etc.) There is basic information at www.hufa.org at the yeast link that may be of some assistance.

In short, yogurt eaten daily may help control the yeast in the intestines. Once you get clear of it, make sure you and your partner are clean in the genital area (it could be from his intestines, too) before you start. The yogurt should be the plain, unsweetened, non-fruit type.

I am a diabetic and have trouble controlling my sugars. As a result I have had repeated yeast infections for about a year. I would use monistat, it would clear up and then 1 week later it would be back again. It was so bad my skin around labia was splitting and raw bad. I was embarrassed to talk to doctor about it. Finally I broke down and did. Thank God! First she prescribed the pill that a former answerer suggested, the one that you only take once and it clears within 24 hours. Same results with monistat. it would clear up and be back the next week. Finally She prescribed Lamisil pills (yes the ones taken for nasty toe fungus, yeast infections fall in the same family) and a prescription cream Nystatin. Oh the relief! Finally cleared up and have been clear for months now.. Go to your Doctor and ask about this treatment. You won't regret it.

with a yeast infection anyone can get it my 17 year old had one not long ago it can be caused from wearing tight clothes it can be gotten from someone else there are many causes and don't use irish spring soap use ivory unscented scented ones don't help. The doctor can give you a pill and its gone within 24 hours. I get them as well but mine are caused from my sugar when your sugar flows over into your urine it causes yeast infections. Its nothing to be ashamed of and for some people the Dr. is the only answer creams dont always work. wear looser clothing and white cotton underwear it helps

some of those other answers before me are defintely good ones....however let me suggest that you tell your man to get checked too..if you're careful with your clothing and the bubble baths,,,you may not know that after sex you should try to pee as soon as possible and wipe good.....I hate to say it but sexual fluids that remain in you can also be antagonizing your system...plus by going to the bathroom that takes away the possibility of urine infections....monitstat for 3 days I find is worthless...unfortunately you really need the whole 7 day one it really kills it like any good antibiotic.....oh that's another thing...if you've been on antibiotics...that too can give you a yeast infection...they usually come hand and hand....and also if you use the pill and are on antibiotics...the Pill won't work that month.....your man has to make sure he get's checked too...I know that's a bummer but with men you obviously can't tell like a woman can when you get that awful stuff...however men can be the carrier of it too...so it doesn't matter how careful you are or how much monistat you've taken...if he's positive for it...guess what?! he'll just keep on re-infecting you!...so definetly off to the doctors for the both of you....and one more thing....are you urinating a lot more than normal or really thirsty....I don't want to alarm you but diabetics can get their share of yeast infections if they aren't careful...you really need to speak with your MD to rule out things...and hopefully it's just due to having sex.....and this is why you should keep on continuing to use precautions...it's not worth it and this is just a sample of why....I hope you're not too young!....ya know what can happen when you play with fire?!...definitely not worth it!...good luck

Recurring yeast infections come from various things. Is your gentleman friend circumcised? Sometimes if he isn't he can hold bacteria inside the little skin. Also if you are taking anti-biotic can get you an yeast infection. Too many bubble baths same thing. To be on the safe side visit the Doctor. OK?

After being married for 16 years , I've only been down with an infection only once that is b4 the Ms DR gave me this golden advice. After intercourse , to wash up your vagina with a water hose. The pressure need to be medium so that the water could reach inside your vagina. Than you could feel water gushing out again.

Cut down on sugar intake.
Wear loose clothing, like skirts, not skin tight jeans.
See your doctor.
You know a lot about yeast infections for not being able to go to the doctor without your mom.
Stop having sex.

Whether or not her little gentleman friend is uncircumcized or not makes not one bit of difference. It's her own hygiene that she has to worry about. If he showers and/or bathes regularly, he has just about the same amount of bacteria in his little skin than everyone does on the tip of their index finger. (depending on where that finger has been) Hehe.
