Rabies is nearly always fatal and it is a disease that you don't want to screw around with. Continue with your treatment and do exactly what your doctor says, unless you want to run the risk of a horrible death over a period of a couple weeks. Don't take chances with this sure killer -- ask your doctor and follow his/her advice carefully.

My husband faced possible rabies shots due to a pitbull attack (thankfully it came back negative). The doctors and health department said you can not consume liquor if you are getting the anti-rabies shots. You have to even be careful of over the counter medicines, that a lot of people don't know contain alcohol. Like cough medicines, mouth wash, etc. (We don't drink, but they wanted to point out the stuff that lots of people don't know contain alcohol).
