Queenhag, Allah is just the Arabic word for God. Arabic Christians use the same word. It just means God, that's all

Just found out that it is because they base their prayer schedule and holy month (Ramadan) on the lunar calendar. this is the basis for the lie.

i don't know who started such a stupid rumor but i guess those who start this to make ppl not to try to learn about Islam but as Allah said in AL quran ( They (the disbelievers, the Jews and the Christians) want to extinguish Allah's Light (with which Muhammad SAW has been sent - Islamic Monotheism) with their mouths, but Allâh will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the Kâfirûn (disbelievers) hate (it). It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islâm), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate (it). )

It makes some people uncomfortable to think that Allah and the Christian god are the same, so they say that Allah is actually a moon god because it makes the "bad" thing seem more different and therefor wrong, so they can feel justified in hating it.

I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that some people have taken it on themselves to spread false rumors about Islam & say as much bad stuff as they can to the muslims, maybe it gives them a silly high, guess these losers have nothing else to do in life!

The moon symbol is prevalent in the cutlures that are chiefly Muslim. It is a juvenile induction but its understandable.

Do your history homework. Allah is reputed to be the "Moon" god who married the Sun goddess. They had three daughters.
