The Origins Of Man exhibit, comprised of pre-historic finds from around Africa's Great Rift Valley considered by many to be the cradle of humanity, is offensive as it promotes Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, they say.

"When museums put it out there that man evolved from apes, theologically they are affecting many people who are Christians, who believe God created us," says Bishop Boniface Adoyo, who is leading a campaign against the exhibit.

So is the Christians MO to destroy any proof of Darwins theory in order to make themselves look better and promote the belief in a God?

There's a big difference between what "Church Leaders" promote, and what is said in the Bible. It's true that the Church Leaders" were against different scientific theories, but science has always proved that the Bible was right. A thousand years before Columbus proved the world wasn't flat, the prophet Isaiah said the world was a circle. And at a time when science said that the world was held up by turtle, or that Atlas held up the world, the Bible said that God hung the world on nothing. Even as recently as the late 18th century, science thought there was an aether that held the earth in space. Science thought that all disease we from affected blood, and when someone got sick, doctors would bleed them. That's how George Washington died, by being bled by doctors. The Bible said that the life is in the blood. Darwin said that man evolved from apes. But after more than 125 years of looking, no missing link has ever been found. That's because the Bible said that each kind of animal would produce after it's kind. Now science is realizing, after looking at the DNA, that it's impossible for one species to evolve into another kind. DNA causes uniqueness of species.

I as a Christian don't want to destroy any of Darwin's theory's, I'll let science do that.

This Bishop acts like he is speaking for all Christians. I will speak for myself. I feel that everyone has a right to choose where they want to go and what they want to see. I don't think the Bishop has a right to try to close anything in a museum based on what is in it. Science is a proven fact. The exhibit that he speaks about and say that our children will begin to believe that we came from apes is crap. He says it will make people doubt that God created us. I would love to have a chance to visit any museum anywhere. To gain knowledge by seeing things about our past is wonderful! I really don't understand why anyone would want to close any exhibit in any museum. I don't think they have the right to. I do believe in the Lord and study the Bible at home. My belief is that God and evolution was a joint thing. I don't believe in the traditional ways of any church, that's why I don't go. I am satisfied with the way I believe. So, I'm not trying to shut down anything in any museum.

No it would be a waste of time to do that. Freedom is the right to choose what to believe and if people realize that science is full of theories and not cold hard facts it's the way life is. Over the centuries the church has squashed science too much to the hindrance of our development. There was a time the church didn't want doctors to do their research. Science can proove God's intelligent design and can further keep us marvelling at the wonders of our world. One thing doesn't have to disproove another.

I had a co-worker that didn't believe dinosaurs were real because it doesn't say anything in the Bible about dinosaurs. I couldn't understand how he could refute dinosaurs, I did some asking and found a great many people that didn't believe they were real. I don't like that idea that I came from a monkey, so I choose to ignore that and just realize that I'm here now, in this human form, typing on a computer.. Therefore, I am.

It only promotes a theory and does not proove anything. What's the problem? No Christians should not be able to destory proof.

Yes, I'm Christian.

a christian, jew, muslim, hindu or follower of any other faith, most people really want to believe in some form of continuation of their life after death and to suggest we evolved over time is not very comforting.

That's certainly what it looks like. The Church has been trying to keep scientific progress a secret since the days of Galileo. If it doesn't support their bible, it isn't the "truth" to them, no matter how much evidence we have.

Evolution has several key truths. Musuems should never be closed because of one group.
