Well depending on the age it might need to go to the veterinary and get teeth cleaned since it will considerably reduce the life of your cat, since they will develope gingevitis and loose their teeth and create complications. Afterwards you could buy a toothbrsuh kit for cats and probably a mouthwash that can be given via food or forced into their mouth.

I brush my cats teeth once a week , when I took him to the vet for his annual shots and checkup, the vet noticed he has a touch of gingivitis, whichis common in certian cats. I f left untreated it could become costly to fix. My cat is 1 1/2 yrs old. Try this for a couple of weeks , and also my cat does not eat wet food, I have noticed a difference in his breath since I started brushing . Once in a while there is a smell, but nothing fowl . I love him no matter what , he is my baby ! Good luck !

They actually sell cat toothpaste with toothbrushes. They also have some hard treats that claim to help bad breath. My cat actually had to be put under to clean her teeth. I have heard that if you feed canned food all the time, this can cause bad breath. You might want to take your cat to the vet to see if she/he has tooth decay or gum disease.

How old is the cat?
My kitten had bad breath when it was teething. My vet said some cats just have this due to hereditary factors.
If it is not teething, U need to have it's teeth, and possibly digestive system, checked by your vet. Your cat may well be suffering from an illness.

Stop giving it can food because that's usually the source, and start giving them cat breath mints or dry food works good if you don't have the money.

how often do you brush your cat's teeth? it is actually recomended that you do it daily. I do it about once a week. you should probably make a vet appointment to make sure that your cat's teeth aren't rotting.
