I have often thought of the very same question you have just asked. The implications of this question go a lot further than if they are defying the will of God, it also poses the question why do they want to live in this world when they could slip into the next.
One reason I believe some seek medical treatment is because they do *not* have such a firm belief in God as they think they do. God provides them comfort, but at the same time they must have some doubt.

God has given so many people gifts to heal, not just through our faith, but through medicine also. There is a reason for everything, even the fact that we have doctors, of all catagories, that treat people, medically, on a every day basis. God gave them the opportunity to have this intelligence to give treatment to people that are sick. Faith based healing is not the only thing that we have in this world to depend upon for miracles, God works through a large realm to heal, but it also says not to tempt God. If you have access to get good medical treatment by other means, do so. Observe all the facts and then think about it, why did these people, (doctors), have the ability to heal?

Why should we give up, & not seek medical treatment. In Jesus time, there was many that was sick & sought healing, & Luke in the bible was a physican, There is divine healing & there is healing, many people gets divine healing mix up with healing, Divine healing is when all means of medical treatment & all means of what a doctor can do, & they say that there is no hope, Then God can heal that person, that is devine healing, Plus there is also another type of healing, And that is with doctors & medicines, God gave the medical profession the knowledge to use medicines for healings. But through it all even that type of healing is also from God. But it is not consider divine healing, Like for instance you break your arm, a doctor sets it But through the process of the law of healing God causes that arm to heal.

Denitely not! God has given all of us the wisdom to decide on what's good for us. If you are ill, definitely you'll not wait in bed until you die. Go and see a doctor for proper medical treatment and attention. Follow the doctor's instructions, take your medicine and all precautionary measures to prevent recurrence of your ailment. However, if everything else has failed, then you have to surrender yourself to your Creator. But definitely you have not offended him at all in your attempt to prolong your life. God knows everything, including the condition of your heart.

God gave people the knowledge of medicine so that we can get help. No matter what we do if it is our time to go, then no medical treatment will help. We are to take care of our bodies. If we have Jesus in our hearts our bodies are the temple of God. We shouldn't take our health for granted.

God told us to have dominion over the earth. That means (at least to me) that if there is good sound scientific practice out there, I should use it. He also said that our bodies are the temples of the Holy Ghost. It is God's will/commandment that we take proper care of the temples.

Your understanding is flawed, unless you are referring to Hindus. Christians do not believe that God controls our fate as you suggest. What do you think we are, robots with no free will! It's a complex matter of us making wrong or right decisions, and God intervening when and where necessary to achieve His will.

No, the bible teaches be watchful and wait... it also declares God wants us to live. T
When paul in he bible was imprisoned he prayed for his release many times, God came, released him. We are to seek God through trials and tribulations,
It says when people are ill pray for them, night and day,
Be concerned it says look after the weak and poorly it teaches of family and family love, there is no greater more loving family than the family of christ.
The bible also teaches to be careful of the company we keep and prepare our hearts and minds for life in heaven eternally. That is what being a christian is about, the next life and living for God, you could say to get into that mode, i hope its o.k. to say that, i pray Gods mercy.
The bible teaches to not be led by the doctrine of the world (evil words and desire/influence), keep good company, the bible also warns us to stay out of the night as we are children of the light, so walk as children of the light, it says. We are to walk with God Live for each other, paul the apostle was hidden from people hunting him and he lived a long God fearing life, Christians took care, at times worshipping in secret.... Teachings of paul answer all this, read your bible.

Yeah, religious people should just pray rather than receive medical treatment. It would save the NHS a lot of money and we could all laugh at them when they realise they've been lied to and their god isn't real. Hahaha.
