a wall thermometer, I suppose you mean a thermometer placed on wall used to measure the room temerature which is either a mercury thermometer the same as body thermometer or other types as the electronic ..ect...

I am unsure as to what you are asking. Please elaborate. Are you speaking about a room thermometer mounted on a wall, an electronic medical thermometer held in a wall bracket, an infrared thermometer used by firefighters to see through walls to search for victims in a fire?

Well my best guess is that, the mercury moves to room temperature to tell us how warm or cool it is in the house. "Wall included".
