Peace be upon you and the Mercy of Allah and His Blessings
The very greeting of Islam (above), shows that Islam is a religion of peace.
The Christians are in denial of the message of Islam because they do not want to admit that Jesus (Peace be upon him) is not the son of God. They refuse to accept the teachings of the Noble Quraan in this regard. They refuse to acknowledge that there is only One God, not three. They refuse to accept that Jesus (Peace be upon him) is a man and a Prophet.
If they acknowledge the truth of Islam their whole concept of "trinity" comes crashing down.
Allah is one of the names of the One true God. He has more than 99 names and he can be called by any one or more of these names.
Do not be fooled or misled by the words of some of the ignorant ones who answer your question. Don't let the actions of a few allow you to question the religion.
Islam is the best religion. If someone does not follow the religion correctly, then something is wrong with that person, NOT with the religion.
Islam is perfect. Muhammed (Peace beupon him) was the most perfect human ever created, so take the step and accept ISLAM!

You want to be in a world full of peace? Leave the planet. Look for a new home in another galaxy. You're not going to find peace here on this planet especially not if you convert to the superstition that is Islam. If you add an e to the end of islam you have islame. It sure is.
Why not become a Jew? Their book is the original text on Abraham and all of that. Mo and friends just ripped it off and added some really stupid crap to it. Not that it needed the help.

Theres no such thing as a world of peace with christians or muslims. But then again if you beleive in something go for it but dont try to cause an argument by asking christians to answer your question. you have yours and they have theres. At the end of the day we will all be judged by all or one

Please don't listen to these ppl who are berating Islam. They do not know what they are talking about!! They say watch the news, you will learn so much from the news (cos the news isn't biased is it?). Do what you feel is right, and do it for the right reasons.
It seems to me that ppl on Yahoo answers are very bitter and scared when it comes to Islam, they say muslims are causing hurt and wars and killing innocents...well forgive me if I'm wrong but if what happened at the Abu Ghraib prison (this is just one of many things) is done by these ppl who have higher morals than us, then I am very happy with being a muslim.

If you want to live in a world of peace, I suggest that you convert to Buddhism. One of the core beliefs in Buddhism is the principle of equality: inotherwords, Buddhists believe that all living entities are equal. Inherent in this belief is the absence of violence and the assumption that no living being should harm another person. As an added bonus after death you will be reincarnated. Not quite sure what you will come back as but after a couple of doses of reincarnation you can achieve a state of Nirvana (liberation and freedom from suffering). Reject the Holy War and invest in Nirvana.

A world full of peace is only created by the very people who want to live in a world of peace. It is not determined by religion it is taught.

well if u are converting then u will need help. i think maybe u should concentrate on being a good person. u can never live in the world of peace, coz at the moment it is islam that is causing the wars such as in lebanon and israel. oh my god, u need to use ur brain. u think that the majority off other ppl dont want to live in peace. plz get ur brain examined. plz god come down and teach ppl.

Well, for starters, Christians don't believe what Mohammad said about Allah, because Mohammad had 9 wives,married a 9 year old girl,married his son's wife,slaughtered many tribes of jews, raped one of the Jewish leader's wife after beheading him,had concubines,slave girls....so in short, christians cannot believe what a pedophile,rapist claimed that God had revealed to him.Whereas Jesus was found to be the sinless lamb of God...no one could accuse him of any sin, even his enemies during his time.

My problem with Islam is they believe if you don't believe in their god, Allah, then you MUST be converted or ELSE. This is why so many muslims (granted they are extremists) are against america and christianity. Anyone that does not worship their god is not "worthy". Muslim is supposedly a religion of peace, I don't buy it though.
Personally, if you worship a god (no matter what name you call him) then thats fine
