Why do you shower? Why do you wash your hair? To stay clean!!! Same reason to brush your teeth. You can't be serious. But assuming that you actually are, here are some more reasons:

It helps you keep your teeth. It helps keep peridontal disease at bay (although not brushing enough isn't the only factor that cause it). These are the ways your risking getting peridontal disease when you don't brush your teeth:

"Lack of Oral Hygiene. Lack of oral hygiene encourages bacterial build-up and plaque formation.

Sugar and Acid. The bacteria that cause periodontal disease thrive in acidic environments. Therefore, eating sugars and other foods that increase the acidity in the mouth increase bacterial counts."

Brushing your teeth is mainly to get the excess food off of them. If you never clean your teeth, then the food hardens and it becomes plaque .. which only a dentist can remove. Even more importantly is to get the food that is caught between your gums out .. sometimes brushing is effective for that, but the best thing to do is to both brush your teeth and floss after each meal. It only takes 24 to 48 hours to become hardened into plaque. Of course, the less excess food that you have sticking to your teeth and between your gums .. the better your breath will be as well. You don't have to brush or floss .. you can just go to the dentist every other month to do it for you .. but it will cost you a lot of money that way. It is easier to just do it a couple times a day and get it over with. If you ignore your teeth and gums over a long period of time, your gums may also recede ..which makes your tooth structure very weak. You could end up needing a root canal and / or dentures down the road .. which, neither of those options is much fun. Good luck ! :)

Brushing cleans off junk that may get stuck between the teeth. Brushing can also whiten teeth and remove discoloration, and a good toothpaste such as colgate may help. Having pastes that are high in fluoride, like certian crest ones, can strengthen the enamel, and make your teeth harder adn much more solid and less likely to break as you age or fi you hit somehting. HOpe this helps!
