I have asked some questions today and now I understand what Matthew 24:4 " Take heed that no man deceive you." means. I am not bashing any christians here, but I think we as christians must spend more time in the bible and more in prayer, and ask God to show us the truth. It seems allot of christians are going for what the churches teaches and pastors are teaching, and not the word of God. I think we are deceived in allot of "chtistian teaching". A very important question, when do go to church, Sundays, or Saturdays (Sabbath), because Jesus kept the Sabbath, and I believe we should too. Thanks people, and God bless

If you read the Bible PLEASE PLEASE read all of the Bible and get to know the spirit of it and the context of it and understand what it really is about. Don't jump into one verse and start a new heresy.
The churches can help especially new believers find the truths of the gospel without having to do such deep study of the Word.
I think that not connecting with other Christians to seek truth brings about all kinds of Distortions and Heretical teaching. You can be "tossed about by every wind of doctrine" if you are not careful. I believe strongly that Jesus demonstrated for us Himself that Christianity is a community of believers not just "me and Jesus". Yes you have to answer directly to God for yourself. But keep in mind WHO said: "Am I my brothers keeper?" and why?

I agree with you. We need to educate ourselves w/ God's word. I have the utmost respect for my pastor but he is just a man. He can be wrong. God's word is never wrong. There may seem to be contradictions in the bible but if you read the whole bible and not just single out scripture you will see there is an answer to all of those. I have actually changed my beliefs on some things I had been taught my whole life because when I searched the bible for myself I found the truth. Just my opinion, as for the Sabbath day, I think it could be any day of the week. As long as we make it a day for God. I think different religions need to stop fighting over petty little thing and focus on the main task at hand. We've been so focused on our differences that we've become side tracked on what we've been called to do. The best thing we can do is to pray and use God's word to teach us. Instead of putting other religions down try lifting them up in prayer instead. God bless

I have never understood how this "Lord's Day" (Sunday) replaced the Sabbath. Christians tend to dismiss the Old Testamant as being irrelevant with its laws. If that is so, then why is the OT still part of the Bible?
Let's face it: the Sabbath has been considered extremely important to God. Do his commandments no longer matter? Are Christians just to do whatever they want and then say they were led by the Holy Ghost, without seriously considering commandments and the consequences?

The Sabbath is Saturday!
There has been a misunderstanding about my comment. We do not worship on Saturday because it is the last day of the week. We are to worship on the First day of the week as you can see in the verse below.
Acts 20:7
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow: and continued his speech unto midnight.

This is dealt w/ in the NT.
With changes in calendar, why do you suppose your Saturday is the "true" sabbath?
There are many misteachings in today's churches, there are many who would mislead, and get us away from the Great Commandment. Your "very important question" is among them.

I agree with you on your central points. I worship on Sunday, although the true Jewish sabbath is on Saturday. I think which day you attend church is not relevant to the matter of your salvation. Go where your heart leads you. Seek and you will find.

i'm in total agreement with you. i mean i listen to the pastor, and his take on the Bible, but there are a lot of HIS ideas that i don't agree with. for instance, he believes that women should wear their hair long (never cut it), hair should be worn in a bun,no jewelry, no makeup, and should be covered from neck to toe meaning long sleeved shirts or blouses and skirts (absolutely NO pants!!! ever!!!) down to their ankles with no slits in them. he believes that men should also be covered up with long sleeved shirts (never short sleeved) and should always wear pants. but he'll also be the first to tell you that it dosen't say anywhere in the Bible that a woman or man has to do all that. i wear my hair long, but i wear it styled. i wear makeup and jewelry, and when it gets hot i wear short sleeved shirts and shorts (not to church, mind you). i think a person should spend time in the Bible and ask God to show them HIS meaning. and i also believe we should keep the sabbath, whether you believe it's on a saturday or sunday. we believe it's sunday and on that day, we go to church and home, and nowhere else.

Amen...God has called us into relationship...NOT religion or religiousity. He reveals Himself to us in the Word. We yield ourselves to Him in prayer. And let's not be "legalistic" about the sabbath...He tells us not to forsake the fellowship of other believers...so pick a day when brothers and sisters in Christ gather and rejoice!
