I have read a number of actual scholarly rebuttals of Brown's book. REAL art historians think he is a charlatan and a fraud.

If the Da Vinci Code was true then we would all be going to hell. Jesus would not have went to the cross if He married Mary Magdalene. He had to keep himself pure for the cross. He knew know sin. He took on our sins for us. So no. Read your Bible, and know the truth.

As you have stated...what makes you believe that a fiction writer uses facts all the time to create a good story?

Some of it is fiction, some is conjecture. The religion part is more of a "what if" theory and thinking outside of what you've always been taught type of ideas. Would it change you feelings of Jesus if he had been married or if he had children? Do some of the double checking yourself of Constantine's Council of Nicea. See what you find. Does it change your thoughts on Christianity?

If the author says it's untrue, I'm not sure why people debate this. He wouldn't claim it to be fiction if it was meant to be taken so seriously.

It's fiction. Based on a few facts and a lot of imagination. It's a shame that the Magdalene lost her marriage certificate.
