It seems so to me, but I want to find out what everyone here has to say about it.

Its a cult. They have some pretty crazy beliefs, space aliens and all. But not much nuttier than the Angel Moroni and the golden tablets in Mormonism or some other religions as well.

They are moving fast.
I once walked past the church of Scientology, and decided, out of interest, to buy L Ron Hubbard's book to see what it's all about.
I paid with credit card, and from that they must have got my address, cause now I get weekly letters from them, urging me to join. It creeps me out that their that fanatic that they found me and are hounding me.
As for the book, we'll it's written in a similar manner as most Christian self help books, which really annoyed me. If you're educated in such a way that you can pick the biased out in papers you'll think this book is rubbish, but if you're form the working class masses who believes everything they read in the Sun newspaper, then you'll be sucked in very quickly.

Consider this, Christians believe Moses parted the sea, Jesus walked on water, the immaculate conception, Jesus rising from the dead, etc...
So if Christianity is justified, wouldn't Scientology be too?

All religions are cults. Not all cults are harmful. I don't know Scientology.

I would say so but I would say the same about all religions, its just that some cults are older and more popular than others.

this scientology thing is a joke.2 guys made a bet-one of them said that all religions in the world are boolshit and he can also make its own religion in purpose of making money so the 2 guys made a bet and thats how scientology was created! :)

I think it could be.... they have alot of weird rules, etc...... Stuff like a women can't say a word during childbirth, etc and they call it a religion...... I really don't remember reading in the Bible that God said its a sin to make a peep when your being dragged down the railroad tracks (childbirth) just weird stuff like that....
