only if you are poking the corpse in the anus

Well I don't suppose the copse would mind much being poked with a stick or indeed any other implement. Depends what you came across while you were poking. If it were a hornet's nest I think YOU might mind very much indeed and probably come to regret it. I don't think politeness would come into it. But a badger is another matter altogether. I think in that case, for badger-poking purposes, I would use a spoon. Yes. Spoons are fine. Hope this helps.

Well, I don't know about the relative politeness of it, but it seems rather pointless, unless the goal is to test for hornet's nests, or root out bears.

Now, poking a bear in a copse with a stick.....you've got a situation.

Incidentally, I'm really, really surprised this question hasn't provoked a SINGLE "Jesus loves you, you heathen" response yet, and only one comment on religion at all, and that's just an observational comment on what others "normally" do. Particularly since the "cheese in the shoes" question did. Huh. Weird.

I've never poked a copse....but I was thinking about it just the other day. I've got a stick, a fairly large one, in the trunk of my car....you never know when you might need one.

I was driving along the parkway when low and behold there was a copse by the side of the road, just begging to be poked with my stick. So, I found a good place to park, walked back, with my stick, or course, to the copse and poked the dickens out of it !

Much satisfaction had I. smiling

It is impolite and disrespectful to poke a corpse with a stick. It is the culture of the civilized world. If you are not normal , then its another thing. Normal people offer flowers and other forms of respect to the corpse before cremation and also pray for the soul. Depends on why you thought of the question in the first place.

You have to place your wording more correctly "to poke a 'copse' with a stick"... you can throw a stick INTO a copse or lose a stick in a copse.

You could poke at a copse with a stick, just like you could poke a stick at a crowd.

Is it impolite to poke a small lowland woodland with a stick? No, just very weird. Or did you mean corpse? That is pretty impolite.

Only in the event it's your Mom, otherwise you should respectfully nudge it with your boot...got it Bubba?

OR on second thought you could also press your tongue to the left or right Carotid ... no arterial pulse? Then poke her with stick?

"You got to touch the Ta Ta" to really know for sure Bubba.

No, since a copse consists of a bunch of sticks pointing up.

Don't know why you would do it though.
