What we have going on is not about religion, but about reality, and truth. If everyone was operating like minded, then there would be no war or condflict of any kind. Light has no fight with light, so it is the darkness in the World that causes disagreements between men. If I am standing in the light and only will accept the purest form of unadulterated truth, and in comes darkness with an idea that it believes is better then truth, then what we have is conflict. Even under these circumstances, it could be worked out if truth would be the basis for negotiations. Sometimes darkness will disquise its self as truth, and then it even makes the masses confused as to right or wrong. If the truth were illuminated in all of us then there would absolutly be no reason to disagree about anything. Pluse Truth would be the prevelent mindset and would bring light even in the midst of the darlkness. There really is all of the resources on this Planet to supply the needs of all of its citizens. It is only greed, and fear, and lack of faith, to name a few, that are fueling the war machine. It is important to note, that the only way to pure truth is to know that truth lays dormant in all humans and can only be illuminated by God. He is Truth so He must be accepted in the mix to be the image that we were created to live and manage this Planet in. Truth will prevail someday, because it is the only concious thing that is eternal. since God and Truth are synomonus then when we all awake to the reality in us then will we truly live in peace. Beware that you ae not deceived by a spirit that will soon bring a form of truth that is going to deceive many. It will be a soul that has learned to decieve the masses by charming them into submission. The first peace on Earth will be a product of this spirit. The eternal Truth will defeat this false truth in Love and will reign on this Planet until we all finally come to the likemindedness that were created to have.

There will be war irregardless of the presence of religion or not.

Look at the times where Genghis Khan, Charles the Hammer, the diffferent colonist - the British, the Dutch, the Spaniards..., China's emperors and other kingdoms that have fought and conquered different countries.

War can be due to greed (for resources?), power hunger, belief that they are "entitled" to a place...

And in the modern days, where we are "supposed" to be knowledgeable, moral and humane, what reasons can they give for such mass crimes???

There can never be an excuse or reason for war, so push this responsibility on to religion, is what they did.

Unfortunately yes! Even without religion there will always be war. War is co ordinated by men. Men like to be in power, men like to kill. This is not male bashing. It is just basic fact. They cannot help it. If women ruled the world there would be no war and welfare would be a priority over guns.

Yes, because although religion causes an enormous amount of conflict and suffering in the world, wars are fought over more than just religion.

Yes, because there would always be a crowd thinking "Look, we're stronger than that crowd over there, how come they have x, y and z and we don't? Let's go and get it. And besides, x hundred years ago the place belonged to us anyway, we should get it back."
Religion on its own was hardly ever the reason for any war. Greed and tribalism have often used religion as excuse.
Mind you, I've no time for organized religion. It is bad for your brain. You only have to look on this site to find that out for sure.

Most of the wars have had an economic purpose behind them, sometimes religion is just a strategy or excuse to get the soldiers...

Religion is rarely the true motivation for those leaders proposing war. It is used more as a tool to gain support for war amongst the uneducated masses who will be doing the fighting. Power, control and wealth are the true motivations as well as defense from those seeking such at the expense of the defending country.

yes and no, there would most certainly be disagreements and disputes, WAR !!! not as we know it, religion is what most often seperates us from each other and from the truth of life and therefore allows us to perpetrate such attrocities against one and other, nay religion often requires it. without religion or better yet, with new expanded theologies we would see the madness in all of this and simple stop..

Only if hate, greed and ignorance didn't exist.
But if they didn't exist, then even if there was religion there would probably be no war.
The unfortunate fact is that greed, hate and ignorance do exist and if anything religion in one form or another tends to reduce these. I don't think that religion is itself a cause of war.

In the bible Israel was the chosen nation, the one picked by God as an example. All the other nations were on there own and used there devices and..... 'created' there own Gods adn belief systems. They fought wars and were bloody. To be chosen by God meant to live under his guidelines... God is good. We intrinsically are not. The law derives from Gods Holy teaching/influence, so we have order now thanks to the law and the fact that it took hundreds of years for the Crusades to log on even though they were declaring themselves christins Jesus came to spread love and encourage christians to serve. The bible and christianity brought peace, but we as people were slow on the uptake.
