and compromised ballistic glass to up-armor our vehicles, and why don't we have those resources readily available to us?"

How would you answer? Here's D. Rumsfeld's answer:

"As you know, you go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time."

The question the soldier stated and the answer Rumsfeld gave shows once again that the mighty and powerful are full of c.r.a.p. when being put on the spot. It was an easy and honest question; and the answer, if it would have been honest too, would have been easy too. The answer with which Rumsfeld chickened out was bubcuss, not to say a total disgrace for a seasoned and professional politician who has done nothing but politics all his life.

The honest answer would have been: "We wanted to go after the Iraqi oil and didn't want to wait, nor cared enough about the fighting people on the ground to equip them properly. The costs involved for the equipment would just have reduced the tax cut we could have given to our corporate bribers."

But an answer like that will never come out of Rumsfelds (nor any other politicians) mouth.

Simple. The money wasn't there to fund better equipment. In my opinion government should only exist to protect people from others and prevent anarchy. If we didn't so many other worthless programs that money would be there.

FYI: I don't agree with this war, but if we are going to be there we should be able to provide our soldiers with the best equipment. Aren't we the so called superpower?

Because Bush &Co. are a bunch of cheap lying as holes that do not give a damn about our soldiers . All they care about is making money . If they were to give our troops what they need it would cut into the profits they have been making off this dirty little war

This is not a question, but a statement and a good one at that.
Only the government can answer this. But then it should be a government that is really answerable, one other than Rumsfeld and company.
